Impeach Bush II (Illegal Immigration)

If Mike can not impeach Bush for the Border Patrol men, then I say lets do it for his lack of backbone in regards illegal immigration. Seems he thinks the only answer to the problem is some sort of guest worker program

He says we need some sort of program for workers to do the jobs Americans are not doing. Has he ever heard of the Free Market? As long as you allow slave labor to come in then no one will ever want to do those jobs because they will never raise their wage for them.

If picking tomato's paid the same as working in a Ford Assembly plant with the same benefits then you would have Americans fighting for those jobs. It is not that Americans do not want to Pick tomato's it is that they do not want to do it for the same wage that the Illegals are willing to do it for.

I can hardly believe it but I agree with you this time. You might want to rethink it now.

Saddest thing is, that with a democratic controlled congress, Bush might get his policy to actually pass......

Yea sometimes I wonder why the Dem's complain so much about Bush, at times he seems like he is one of them.

Bush is right. Can Mexico send us a President and Cabinet? Is it too much to ask to have them send a congress and senate too? It seems to me that these are some vital jobs that aren't getting it done. Not only that, but they are the most expensive ones too. Labor cost for Mexicans who do nothing in session would be better than paying idiots to hose up everything.

Give the illegals another 50 years or so and they will control America enough they will just vote themselves one into office

Welcome to the Board Backoeboogie!

I think in terms of foreign policy with regards to Mexico, we are missing the boat. Mexico is a rich country with large amounts of oil and minerals. They have labor that will actually work. With these kind of assets in their national bank, it seems to me that they should be pulling ahead of the U.S. in standards.

One of the real reasons it is not lies in the fact that Mexico has a few people at the top who control and earn most of the income. Their system of government does not have integrity. When a lowly Mexican comes up with a good idea and there is money to be made, one of the big boys comes in and scoops up the opportunity. They do not have as large a middle class as we do.

It seems to me we are going more the way of Mexico instead of encouraging them to get more like the USA. This was the promise of NAFTA which has been largely unfulfilled in this regard.

The Mexicans are being held down by their own system and we are encouraging that system here in our own land instead of encouraging them to be more like the U.S. No wonder Mexican individuals want to come here while it is still relatively better than their own country.

The key to immigration in the long run is structural change of the Mexican government and economy, not the USA lowering to Mexican standards.

For once I agree with you....

the Mexicans seem to be on track with there recent elections and are actually having a voice..add in term limits and both countries would soon see major changes for the better.

What one might not realize is that we are not that far apart, and given a stable Mexico the migration would be reversed....

If Americans could actually solve our drug problems we would stop most of the cross border crime....and see real change...
