LOL According to the BMI I am a tubby one :) Kind of funny how these things work, they don't take into account us solid folk. I don't have an ounce of fat on me. According to this thing I should weigh about 135  People start asking me if i'm sick at anything under 145.

I'll enver buy the BMI thing unless they want to add percent body fat or at the very least a frame size type thing. I've seen 6 foot guys who weigh 175 pounds with big beer bellies because they are built like a rail in general and I have seen 6 footers who weigh 210 without a speck of fat on them because they are just broader built.. Drives me a bit nuts to be honest, they want to see me weigh 170 pounds if not 165 probably, I stiopped checking.. I'll keep my 180 thank you very much but I might try to move a little of that BMI out of the stomache area to somehwere else..

I Have to be between 105-141 to be normal for my height 5'3! Id like to see people that weight that doing the work i do, they probally couldnt do it. And just because it says you are chubby or over weight doesnt mean you are, im in good shape, i can lift about 100lbs. Muscle weighs more than fat and im guessin that doesnt fator in muscle does it?? So i guess im over weight according to that. But it cant really tell YOU if your under, over or normal, because the peopel that they probally got the stats from are not ranching people, that have muscles! If that made any sence!

I've seen my dad fall victim to this BMI thing.. He is not a husky man, although when he was a Ranger he would probably push 210-220 (As long as he wasn't just back from the jungle) and stood just shy of 6 foot 3... We have pics of him at the beach in Hawaii on one of his R&R's with my mom during one of his two tours in Nam and he was about 170 or so and looked sicker than a dog.. Well, now he might be pushing 165 and looks slightly better than death warmed over.. Yeah, I am sure he is healthy but he sure doesn't look it.. His folks are both crazed about getting fat to the point that they were malnourished. at 92 and 90 they were finally forced by poor health into an assisted living situation.. Amazing when they make sure you eat that you start feeling better and gain a few pounds.. My poor grand mother was basically anemic from self starvation because they didn't want to get "fat"..

Yeah, 16 years ago I was the same height I am now and weighed 125 pounds.. of course, a spell of Giaradia after spending a month in the backwater of Alaska will do that too you, lol.. I don't know if I could do the job now back at the 155 I was before I left town for the woods that summer.. Maybe but sometims I need a bit more leverage, lol.

I bet my brother's BMI is pretty low, 6 foot 5 and 165 pounds before he got married.. Thank god married life has put some pounds on him, lol.

Hard to believe I'm in the "normal" range considering the roll of belly flab I drag around which isn't supposed to be healthy. Maybe my thin bones tricked the calculations?

The BMI doesn't take into account muscle. According to that I am "overweight" But my weight fits my build. I am 5'8" and like a 176 pounds. I really don't care about that BMI because I have more muscle than fat. So oh well. Like you said Katy, I do different work than most my age, and I can lift over 100lbs.
