said he checked with the state and not one CRANE had been sold
(now I can't remember for what length of time) and he said that
is BAD NEWS because no one is building anything... AND...

he said he was in an old part of Portland where there were old established
business and they are gone...closed up...gone...

folks in this liberal part of Washington are not happy with Obama...

Well the good new is your there and you know what is best .so just tell them to have a tea party and you will step up to the mic after each speaker and champion thier efforts, with loud applause and back slapping comments....You go girl..........You can tell them how this one guy,oh but you wont rember the name of course, told a radio station that cranes where not sold.....Thing is, most all cranes are rented from crane companies....

I did hear chocolate bar sales are down in ohio,i can not rember the guys name,oh wait!!,yes thats right, it was willy wonka.....he says alot of those liberal chocolate eaters are really upset with Obama, very unhappy they are....On a positive note....Obama has raised the stock of both red rose and tetley tea .......Nestea is very upset though,as the company banked on a hot summer and where expecting groups to have Ice tea parties,in loo of the original tea parties........

Unfortunatly organizers of these tea parties said they did not want to confuse their followers as the over all IQ at these said parties is very low to begin with...Even though sara Palin claimed to have a daily "hankerin' for the cold stuff" ,she agreed most followers would get confused about such a drastic name change to the event.....Again,I can not confirm who said it but i am sure it might be true...

FH-- Come up here and see the miles and miles of pipeline being put in-- and the stack after stack of pipe they've been hauling in...Folks that have lived on some places all their lives having to haul water will now have water ... I heard of one fella the other day- 3nd generation wheat farmer- that the family had lived there since 1909- that had never been able to own any livestock because of no water-- Now will have water...

Must be our Governor is a little more progressive and on the ball than Washingtons- eh :???:

obama sends stimulus aid to foreign firms

"Nearly half of the $2.4 billion in federal grant money awarded Wednesday to stimulate the US economy and boost the production of hybrid and electric vehicles went to six companies with ties to places as far away as Russia, China, South Korea and France," as "so few American companies have the necessary technology."

Three grants went to GM, totaling $240,000,000+. Chrysler will get $70,000,000 and non-government owned Ford will get $92,700,000. This is DOE Stimulus Money.

one of three grants is for $105,900,000 for Volt battery packs, but the cells for the packs will be built in South Korea…"

Johnson Controls, who has partnered with a French company to develop batteries, got the biggest single grant -- $299,200,000, and it already makes batteries in France, got a separate grant of $95,500,000. JC plans to build plants in Holland, Mich., and Lebanon, Ore inside of two years.

A123 Systems Inc. got $249,100,000 makes batteries in China now, but is intending to construct plants in Michigan.

South Korean & Russian Corporations are also getting money.

“Of the grants awarded for 48 projects, the lion's share -- $1.07 billion -- went to the six companies with foreign ties and are meant to produce advanced battery and electric drive projects.

Vancouver is just across the river from Portland. Great little city in my opinion. The people in Portland referred to it as "Hooterville" and treated everyone there as Podunk. We lived off of a road called "4th Plain" for a year. I always surmised it was the 4th flood plain above the river but never knew. "Mill Plain" was where all the industry was back in the early 80's.

Oregon was strong union. You are not allowed to pump your own gas in that state. Seriously. They have service station attendants that are union.

I needed 45 or so hands in Vancouver. Welders were trying to go to work as pipe fitters and pipe fitters were trying to go to work as welders etc. There was some kind of rule that they could work out of their trade if they were union. It was absolutely the worst craftsmanship I had ever seen not only in the installations we were making, but also all the equipment in the existing plants. They took no pride in their work. We also had to deal with sabotage. I don't know why any company would put in any kind of factory there.

EQIP Funds Will Supply Dry Prairie's Water to Livestock - June '03
Several area livestock produces have signed EQIP Contracts for the construction of livestock pipelines, water tanks and cross fences. Water for these improvements will be supplied by Dry Prairie's Culbertson to Medicine Lake Mainline. Producers from both Sheridan and Roosevelt Counties will benefit with the cost share and technical assistance furnished by the Montana NRCS. The contracts are directed toward practices that will provide direct benefit to rangeland and pastures. This years funding will benefit about 3,800 acres of rangeland with the installation of 8 miles of pipeline and related fixtures. There is capacity for additional livestock water along the Mainline and additional contracts are anticipated in the coming years. The entire Dry Prairie service area has the potential to serve about 400 livestock producers and benefit about 1,000,000 acres of rangeland. Producers who are interested in pipeline water for livestock should contact NRCS representatives at 787-5232 or the Dry Prairie Office at 787-5382.
This project has been getting funding since 2003 to provide water to people that needed it so would the funds have dried up if Obama's stimulus funds had not been provided?

Probably would have been 10 years getting over here with the piddly amounts budgeted every year...And its different in different areas-- if your land/home is on the reservation- they pay to put the pipe into where you need it- so you don't need EQIP money....But you need the pipeline there first....
But it was a perfect Stimulus/Jobs project- been in the design for 8-10 years- shovel ready- just needed funding...And now they are hauling in pipe by the truckloads and folks are earning wages putting it in....They are hooking into Boeings water treatment plant until they can get the huge one over by Oswego completed...

Oldtimer, are you on the payroll already, or just trying to get hired on?

Do you see what is going on? If you need some $$ to treat your dementia, I can send a money order.

Good for you, you're going to make some money.

Overall cost/benefit, do you know that.

You talk "collective", like a true Socialist, but you know nothing about helping out your fellow American.

Yep, you are right. We had to let someone pump our gas for us

They didn't wash the windows, tho.  :p

its funny how people are ok with being unpaid empolyees of oil companies, and pump their own gas before they pay..Soon we will have to open boxes and stack shelves before we get our groceries.....Young teenage boys have a hard time finding work, many of which not that long ago used to pump gas as an after school job....We have become employees and now pump their gas into our own cars..Then and this is the howl, bitch about a places that will pump it for us....shakes head...

Hey, nono, I was glad he pumped the gas. But I guess the union won't allow them to wash the windows too.

P.S. I agree that kids need a job to do. Does anyone here recall when
the law was passed that kids couldn't work til they were 16 years old?
We all knew what would happen then, if they haven't learned to work by that age, they may never. We always thought teaching kids the value of work in their formative years was of utmost importance. So, really, the government took that away when they implemented the 'age' rule.

Excuse me but the Dry Prairie pipeline has been installing pipe and delivering water before most anybody in Montana had heard of Barack Obama. In fact they started installing pipe under George Bushes watch.Except it was more or less an "Local" initiative.
