Inflation On The Way

Maybe someone else posted this, but Wednesday afternoon the Fed announced they were buying up a bunch of debt (first time in 40 years) and putting 1 Trillion into the economy. Did anyone else already post this? This AIG stuff is a distraction to what the big story should be.

This was the one thing I was worried about as I am approaching retirement and am going to start another job. Inflation it seems to me has to be a problem. But recently on Cspan, as I recall, two different economists said inflation would not be a problem over the next 4-5 yrs. I hope they were right.

We've increased the money supply greatly, we're pumping government debt into the economy like crazy, how can this not be inflationary?

Something all you folks might want to consider; If you have any debt that is not locked in over 5 years out, you might want to consider it now, even if you have to give up a point or two today. This might get ugly.

I'm looking at possibly not continuing business as usual. Currently, customers put a deposit down and lock in at a certain price per lb HCW to reserve a quarter, side or whole. With inflation being possible I'm nervous to lock in a price per lb. I may take a few deposits and then do something real crazy, let people bid on them. No decisions have been made, but it's on my mind.

You thinking we might be looking at Home interest rates like they were under Carter? What was it then for a home loan, something like 17%?
