But when I wrestle with the morality of it, I can't quite get there.
On what do you base your morality?

The trouble with society today, is that it tries to be too "politically correct". Society likes the feely good, don't offend anyone, you do your thing and I'll do mine philosophy. "Tolerance" is the buzz word, but there comes a time when good God-fearing people need to take a stand for what is right. Morality is a God-given Bible-based trait, but even an atheist can detect right from wrong if they just follow their concience.
I was right with you Soap till the last verse. Concience can be decieving. I don't think all of Germany's good people who sat back and did nothing thought they were wrong. I believe the govt and their neighbors had them convienced of the rightness or morality of the holocoust. Concience can be conditioned. We have to have a moral compass outside our concience IMO. One that is true .

Re-reading Martin's post, I can't realy see that political correctness is what he's aiming for.

Very good point, Red Robin. That is what the Bible is for, to use as our moral compass.

Romans 1:18-20. But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who push the truth away from themselves. For the truth about God is known to them instinctively. God has put this knowledge in their hearts. From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see His invisible qualities--His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God.

Mark:Chp 16:15
And he said to them, "You justify yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts; for what is of human esteem is an abomination in the sight of God."

Seems to me, that pretty much covers most of our societies ills.

Well, if you misspelled conscience I followed suit.
I mean they over look the compelling of their conscience long enough to the point where now, their conscience is no longer compelling.

A seared conscience would be like a seared vein on a freshly dehorned steer. After awhile, it doesn't bleed anymore.

Yup. Soap, I'll agree with you there. Too much feely good. I see you are infected with it too.

Actually, I'm surprisingly difficult to offend. Has to do with my unnaturally thick hide, to which I attribute good upbringing and good whiskey.
