It is encouraging that such a large majority want "the best available science" as the guide for issues.

I wonder if the second question would have been answered the same had they pointed out the fact that the SRM removal system in Canada is comparable, maybe even the very same as ours, so the beef is safe, according to "the best available science"?

Actually, MRJ, they spoke "their mind". Most people want to keep the border closed. The fact that they belong to AFBF and NCBA tells me that the major commodity groups are NOT listening to the people that pay the dues.
the sound science in this whole matter: 4 cases BSE from Canada. You say SRM removal is being done. Do you REALLY believe that the people who work in packing plants are NOT letting things slide a little? After all, their previous mistakes have been documented by APHIS and good USDA inspectors.
