Yeah looks like some good useable cattle. I like the 6595 4x13 cross but we've got a few of those in the oven right now.

What do you think of Bennett Total I used him some last year. Also those Freightliner cows I have coming with their 2nd calves are some serious meat wagons you picked him as a good one a few years back.

Yep-- look like a nice bunch of cattle...Interesting line of reference sires...

Denny I'd be interested to hear how the 4 X 13's turn out...He seems to be a bull that gets a lot of mixed reaction from those that have used him- some love him- some hate him... :???:

And I've heard some really good things and been interested in Freightliner-- but have been hesitant until they get the FCS test developed since he was sired by 598-- altho if my memory serves me right, everything I've read put out by the Australians has been negative on getting any defective calves from Freightliner..

My customers say Total is a little better on his females than his bulls-a guy I trust said he's real good on his feet and legs. The Freightliners are real volume cattle from what I've seen-my neighbor used Final Answer on his Freightliner daughters those are some real broody females. I really liked how Freightliner looked in the flesh.

I've only got 1 bred heifer from 4X13 but she's the best one also. A friend of mine has one also and they are identical in type shorter stature big ribbed cattle. I've got all but 3 of my bred heifers in calf to him right now.The 3 others are bred to Bennett Total and are all sired by EXT sons kind of double stacking some ext on those three. He's most likely the only bull were useing this next year.Except for some more of our Shoshone and Wye semen in the tank.I may buy some more Ohlde semen this spring but I'm not sure yet. Scott Shively from 5barX lives next to Tastad's and helped them work about a 100 4X13 heifers last spring he was impressed. His knowledge of the cattle kind of reienforced my decision to use him more. From what I've seen and heard their temperment is'nt an issue. That could change though.

The freightliner heifers/cows I have are the widest meatiest cows we've got. I sold an open heifer to a guy and as a first calf heifer she was out performing every cow on his place. I hope she bred back otherwise it was all for nothing. She was a Frieghtliner daughter.

We have 3 4x13 on the ground out of heifers. They came small between 60 to 70 pounds and have a will to life and get up and eat. They are growing good but will know more this fall. The calfs are mild natured better than most at that age.
