Introducing Sugar and Lucky.

This is the eldests bucket calf for Clover Kids. She was determined it had to be a heifer and a white one like her Uncle raises. We bought her past calf from the same gentleman that we got Sugar from. The gentleman always gives her a less then market value deal. In exchange he watches the calf mature through photos and gets one of them at fair.

Sugar's first halter experience and not her favorite.

Sugar and Lucky having supper. This is the stall system my dad made for us to be able to easier feed the bucket calves. We are up to seven now. Each one has a stall and this way they aren't knocking each other off the bottles when some are done.

Lucky not liking his first halter experience so much.

Lucky at the barn. Like the eldest the youngest had a mindset of what his calf should be. Marked up! We think this a shorthorn/angus. Anyway he's got some color.

Those look like nice bucket calves. Choosing a little color should really help them stand out on show day :) . When is your fair? Ours is the first part of August.

Ours is around the third week in August. We start halter breaking them and messing with them the day we get them. The kids have to help feed them and are responsible for messing with them getting them gentle. The eldest can't wait for it to be nice out so she can start giving them baths.
