Iraq brought al-Qaeda back to life

Rush, Brittany Spears and Ted Haggart all can be cured of their additions in thirty days or less.

I don't think their "additions" have anything to do with what is going on with the US and the world. With Rush, I hear tapes/clips of Dems following 911 and their support of our President, how we have to fight the war on their turf...That Al Quaida will end up here if we don't invade IRAQ. You libs have a very SHORT TERM MEMORY. I also hear what they are saying now....clear out of IRAQ.

I know Rush didn't make up those clips.

sw won't get in the middle of these "debates", I just might make him post something he heard on the Rush program the other day that I missed. Verrrrrrry interesting. People say things at one point then say something different later on....they just bloooooooowwwwww with the wind.

I am a mom of a Marine, who has been in IRAQ for the last 5 months, we read what is going on in IRAQ from emails...the military isn't allowed to be tough enough to get the job done....there are too many "politically correct" rules to abide with. We need to support our troops with the $ they need without the pork spending stuck onto the original bill. Of course, we all know those "pork" additions put onto the military spending bill was used for bribery. Dingy Harry, of course, managed to convince some repubs to vote for the bill, I think he mostly threatened them or blackmailed them. I also learned some of the "pork" was for Agriculture, I am for one, willing to give up whatever the "pork" was for to support our troops and give them what they need to WIN!!!!!!!!! :!:

Geez, I sure wish our Senators and Representatives were clean in the first place and didn't have to fear blackmailing.

Very good post, Hanta. I especially liked the part about sw - how you were going to "make him" post something. That was a good one.

I wish we could hear from him a little bit more, though. I can't even begin to imagine the frustration (and even anger) that you two feel as the parents of a Marine. To have to listen to all of the Bush-hating, anti-war liberals would make me sick...

Such a selfless gift that you parents of our service people have blessed the rest of us with. Thank you all.

Listen Texan. I care about my neighbors, three of whom are USMC (father and two sons under 20). I'm proud of what they do and worry about them when they're in harm's way. They do the job our elected officials asked them to do, and they do it well when we give them the resources and empower them. Politics do not come between my family and theirs. We don't have the same polarization here it seems. They know I lived in the Middle East and speak Arabic and despair about the situation in the Middle East in general. The day he returned from his first tour in Iraq, I cried and sent a huge bouquet to the family. Just because we think and read and question doesn't mean we are enemies of our own troops. As long as they're in Iraq, they are fighting because MY elected officials sent them there and whatever mistakes were made are on the shoulders of all of us who elected the officials who sent them and on those who did not plan the war well so the soldiers are still in harm's way more than should have been the case given the ease in bringing down Saddam Hussain.
then direct your efforts towards a positive "win the war" effort instead of all the anti Bush, read this book crap you babble on about....

Hanta, I don't know about all of the pork in the bill, but one part of it was a reimbursement or something to that effect to the spinach industry because of the recent contamination problems.

I don't know that I totally agree that the US govt. should "insure" these kind of situations unless it is linked to some kind of terrorism.

We had a little spinach in the garden and had no problem.

This issue and the pet food problem gives more credence to the idea of sustainable agriculture goals of more producers producing for their areas and a decentralization of our food supply. Both of these cases show the wisdom of this kind of thinking.

I also learned some of the "pork" was for Agriculture,

My understanding was that a great deal of the "pork" was for agriculture- the entire Ag disaster program which included assistance for the storm losses and last years drought and fires...

So why was this "pork" added onto the military spending bill? Gee whiz, let's bribe legislators into voting for it so we can get our troops out of Iraq. This whole thing stinks to high heaven. The "pork" needs to be added to the Farm Bill, not the military spending bill. Give me a break.

We had some friends out from CA for our branding last Oct, they said it was the wild pigs that caused the e-coli outbreak in the spinach. The drive by media tried to place the blame on cows. (FYI)

OH and BTW, I thought the Dems were getting rid of EARMARKS. Looks to me it's OK for them to do it, no one else can. Sheeeeesh.

Thanks, Texan :) It's people like you who give us hope. Hope in winning this war and hope our son will come home in one piece. Thank you, all of you, who support our troops and who don't want to "cut and run". If we cut and run, those who've died already have died in vain. That thought makes me just plain sick.

Thanks. One of these days we just might do that. But it sure as heck won't be in the winter. When you and sw come down here for a week during hay season, we'll talk about it more.

I guess each to his own but I don't tend to trust addicts especially one who has made several bad choices in his lifes partner. or maybe his wives made a bad choice.
All you said here I have heard on the drive by media, maybe you can come up with something later.
Out of five brothers four of us have servered honorably in the Service and also my son. The one brother that didn't serve seems to like war better the rest of us.
My wife has a brother scattered somewhere in Europe from WWII and recently buried a brother age 57 killed from agent orange, he never whinned or drew very little in compensation for it, less than a year disablility. He like my brothers who served was a liberal. Its not just conservatives that fight these wars.

Sorry. I tuned you out after that part. That sounded kinda like an order. I don't do orders.

RR, I still can't figure out why she thought I was yanking her chain - "Listen Texan, blah, blah, blah..." I specifically mentioned "the Bush-hating, anti-war liberals" in my post. Unless I've missed some Bush-bashing or anti-war posts from her, or unless she feels guilty about some latent feelings that have yet to surface, I don't consider her to be one of those "Bush-hating, anti-war liberals."

She's a confessed liberal, which I find to be refreshing and demonstrative of some potential for her. Many liberals seem to hide behind the, "I'm a moderate" theme. She's doesn't mind admitting her faults.

I've also found her to be one of the most objective liberals that I have ever come in contact with. Liberals and conservatives alike could take a page from that book.

I can't remember her posting anything resembling mindless Bush-bashing like some of the narrow-minded and myopic libs do. Maybe I just missed it? And I sure wouldn't consider her anti-war. In fact, I consider her somewhat hawkish - for a liberal.

I guess I'm still confused as to why she feels guilty and felt like I was addressing her... :?

frankk,

Thanks to you and your family for serving. I never said conservatives were the only ones who fight the wars.....but they seem to be more supportive of this one.

I probably would have personally put her in the Bush bashing camp. She hates him as much as kola or dis did. She's just alot smarter about how she presents herself to the rest of us than kolanuravinlunatic. As far as being anti war, I don't think R2 is that either. She has enough knowledge of the middle east to know better than to be too big of a dove. BTW she's not much of a self proclaimed liberal, she's a self proclaimed centrist or moderate and if you really knew a "liberal" , well, you'd be shocked...as if we're not already by her liberal stances on somethings. Having said that, I'm drawn to her for some reason. I think she's good hearted in some sort of way. I really don't know how you can be supportive for the things she's supportive and still be good hearted but I think she is. When I have visited with her in pm's she's very genuine and honest. I like her. I hate her viewpoints. All in all I count her a friend.

Don't get the big head R2. Your ideas and political beliefs are still left of fidel castro (even though you think you're a centrist) and are as kooky now as they were in the 60's. I hope you have a good week though. Passover???? isn't that when the Perfect Lamb was slain for the sins of the world and the ONLY lamb that didn't just cover sin till next year but as John the Baptist said , behold the Lamb that taketh away the sins of the world?
