Iraq did go uranium shopping

You can keep on beating your head against a wall all you want, Passin’ Gas. But the truth is out and more people are seeing our President as the Liar in Chief, or Leaker in Chief, whichever you prefer. From my “Bush Spins…” article above:

“United Nations inspectors had exposed the main evidence for the uranium charge as crude forgeries in March 2003…”

“But it also said U.S. intelligence did not know the status of Iraq's procurement efforts, "cannot confirm" any success and had "inconclusive" evidence about Iraq's domestic uranium operations.”

“..director of central intelligence George J. Tenet and his top weapons analyst, Robert Walpole, expressed strong doubts about the uranium story… The State Department's Bureau of Intelligence and Research, likewise, called the claim "highly dubious."

“Tenet interceded to keep the claim out of a speech Bush gave in Cincinnati on Oct. 7, 2002…”

“The council's reply, drafted in a January 2003 memo by the national intelligence officer for Africa, was unequivocal: The Niger story was baseless and should be laid to rest.”

And why did the White House finally say “the reference to Iraq's attempt to acquire uranium from Africa should not have been included in the State of the Union speech."

1. I'm so glad to make your day. We all know that when George W. Bush gives someone a nickname, it's a sign of his esteem. Carl Rove's NN is "Turdblossom." Isn't that so cute? Gotta love George's sense of humor.

2. My weakness hasn't been shown by anyone on this board. I've said from the beginning of my time on this board that the Iraqi war was wrong. I've said that Americans would turn their back on it. I've said Bush lied, mislead, spun intelligence to get Congress and the American public to agree to the war. All of that has come true.

3. Congratulations on having your picture put on the cereal box! But haven't you been reading the papers? You really shouln't put personal info (like your picture) on the 'net.

I don't eat cereal. I'm sure it must be yours. But I certainly will "neverforget". I'll never forget that there's no proof that Saddam had anything to do with 9/11. I remember Bush telling us Saddam had WMDs. Not true. I remember Cheney telling us that Iraqis would welcome us with open arms. Not true. I remember Paul Wolfowitz telling us that Iraq could fund it's own reconstruction. Not true. I remember Rumsfeld telling us the war would only last a few weeks. Not true. I remember Bush strutting to the podium under the "Mission Accomplished" banner and declaring the conflict in Iraq over. Not true. I remember Bush telling us that no one thought the levies wouldn't hold in New Orleans. We saw the video of him being told otherwise the day before. Why would anyone believe any of this crew about anything?

I don't need to come up with anything new. The Bush Administration is giving me new ammunition practically every day. Republican leaders Frist, Delay, Ney, Libby, Burns, all under official investigations. Now we know that the President, who claims to hate leakers, approved the leaking of classified information for political purposes. And public opinion polls are starting to reflect what I've said all along: he's not a trustworthy person.

Well, I have been off the board for a while. Give me time; I'll get my old form back. :D

Tell us all Dis......Tell us how all your mud you sling is helping the war effort? What do you think the troops think of you? Have you spoke to any troops and asked them their feelings about the war? How come som many troops volunteer for a 2nd or 3rd tour of duty? Do you think the world is not better with Saddam out of power? How many more reasons did the US need to go to war? Saddam continued to kick inspectors out of the country time and time again. Saddam had more time to hide his wmd's than you can shake a stick at. What is a WMD anyway? Can you honestly tell me you dont think saddam sent chemicals off to Sieria or somewhere like that?? Isnt a missle considered a wmd? did we find any of those things? What did Saddam have to hide that he wouldnt let the inspectors have the key to any and everything? Help us all out and tell us who SHOULD be our next president. Tell us how this new president is gonna make everything so much better than it is right now. I really would like to hear. Saddam should have been taken care of back in 91 when we were there the first time. If we dont stick this out and take care of business, no matter how long it takes, the USA will be a paper tiger to the world. People like Iran and North Korea will do anything they want becaus the will know the USA is all talk. Stick it out..take care of business and get out as soon as we can. If we set a date of withdrawl, dont you think the "bad guys" are just gonna be sitting back and lickin their chops? I have 2 sons...14 and 10.......in 10 years down the line, i would really appreciate it if my kids dont have to go clean up the mess that should have been taken care of now, that should have been taken care of in 91, all because some whining bunch of panty waste mother f*&%#@$ like your self cant get that figured out!

"Mud slinging" Interesting you'd call facts, some from government reports "mudslinging." But, surprise! I'm not trying to help the war effort. I'm trying to get our troops home. They should never have been sent to Iraq. This is Bush's personal war. It's been badly waged and handled. I see no end. It reeks of Vietnam. While the Iraqi "leaders" argue about who will have what job, American soldiers are dying, just like they died while the North Vietnamese argued about the shape of the negotating table. Four months after the election, they have no government! Why sould Americans die for them?

What do you think the troops think of you? Have you spoke to any troops and asked them their feelings about the war?

All the troops that I see have a nice smile, and "good morning" for me. No, I don't ask them about their feelings about the war. Soldiers aren't paid to think. They're paid to follow orders. I'd never condemn any of them for what they're doing, as long as they're following orders.

How come som many troops volunteer for a 2nd or 3rd tour of duty?

How many have volunteered for a 2nd or 3rd tour? I want a number. I know many have served several times, but I doubt many have volunteered for that many tours. The fact that our government has to send them back three times speaks volumns abouthow badly this war is being managed.

Do you think the world is not better with Saddam out of power?

Sure the world is better off. Is the US better off? I don't think so and that's where my loyalty lies.

How many more reasons did the US need to go to war?

We only needed one and Bush didn't have one. That's why he lied, skewed intelligence, and mislead the American people and Congress.

Saddam continued to kick inspectors out of the country time and time again.

There were UN inspectors on the ground in Iraq. George W. Bush told them to get out before launched his invasion. Why? I say he didn't want them to find proof there were no WMDs and take away his excuse for the invasion. What's your opinion on why he ordered inspectors out?

Saddam had more time to hide his wmd's than you can shake a stick at. What is a WMD anyway? Can you honestly tell me you dont think saddam sent chemicals off to Sieria or somewhere like that?? Isnt a missle considered a wmd? did we find any of those things? What did Saddam have to hide that he wouldnt let the inspectors have the key to any and everything?

Saddam had no WMDs. If you're paying attention at all, there are government reports that during the US invasion he told his generals there were no WMDs. So spin, speculate all you want. There were no WMDs. AGAIN, Saddam did allow inspectors into the country. Bush told them to get out so he could invade. You can't get around that fact.

Help us all out and tell us who SHOULD be our next president. Tell us how this new president is gonna make everything so much better than it is right now. I really would like to hear.

 You're ranting.

Saddam should have been taken care of back in 91 when we were there the first time. If we dont stick this out and take care of business, no matter how long it takes, the USA will be a paper tiger to the world.

You're still ranting.

People like Iran and North Korea will do anything they want becaus the will know the USA is all talk.

Got news for you, Iran and North Korea are doing what they want. George W. Bush weakend our country's military and international standing to scratch his own personal itch and get Saddam. He named the three countries as an "axis of evil" and chose to invade the only one without a nuclear program! Does that tell you anything?

Stick it out..take care of business and get out as soon as we can. If we set a date of withdrawl, dont you think the "bad guys" are just gonna be sitting back and lickin their chops?

Hey, I agree, let's get out as soon as we can. How about May 15? John Murtha has called for getting out as soon as we can and the Republicans have blasted him. Americans are turning their back on this war. They realize there's no national interests being protected in Iraq.

There was absolutely no reason for the United States of America to invade Iraq. We're not the policemen of the world. Iraq posed no threat to this country. If you disagree with that, tell me why.
Your sons will never have to join the military if they don't want to. And that's what's happening more and more as this war becomes more unpopular. The US Army is failing to recruit enough new soldiers to keep the units fully manned.

Question for good ole dis. If Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11, Osama and the rest of our enemies, why was one of Osama's right hand men killed out of Bagdad this week? Was he just vacationing? Out for a Sunday drive? I don't think so. A second question, how much is the DNC paying you to post this BS on here everyday? Seems like you have the talkiing points of the day posted before I can finish the days news.

Which right hand man was killed this week? I must have missed that one. Please post a link to an article about the death.

Was he just vacationing? Out for a Sunday drive? I don't think so.

Don't know until I know what you're talking about. If we counted up all the "right hand" men that have been killed in Iraq, Osama Bin Laden wouldn't have any supporters left. So I'll wait to see your link before I comment.

About the same as the Bush Administration is paying you to support their lies and misrepresentations.

Keep on cutting and pasting Dis, I heard that on the radio this afternoon, sorry can't give you a link, not that your links mean squat anyway, You are from Boise anyway aren't you? Another one of the wolf loving hate
America libs from that place. Oh, did I mention that I grew up in Salmon, a place you libbers have decimated with the spotted owl, the wolves and the ESA? My facts come from our kids that are there, kids that I know personally on a first name basis, did you not listen to the tapes from Flight 93 the last couple of days? And by the way nobody pays me to support my country, my kids, my way of life, I do it because it is the right thing to do. You are so blind with your hatred of our President you have gone over the line, GET A LIFE. At least check yourself into an institution so you can get some help. What really bothers me is that my son is sworn to protect people like you, and he will, and you sorry SOBS will not even tell him thank you. GTH

I hear people saying "what would the troops think" quite often. I was a troop in Vietnam 1968 there was protesting going on daily back in the states. I can't recall one time we every discussed it or even mentioned it in passing. Being in a infantry company I wasn't in contact with but a few men maybe in the rear there was more talk. Also I wasn't devastated because of no parade or thank you nor was anyone in this neck of the woods I know of. I was drafted maybe volunteers have a different mind set.

I visited with a Vietnam Veteran this very day. I asked him if he thought this war 'smelled of Vietnam' as Dis has posted (many times.)

He said, "it is going to drag on awhile, but no, it isn't like Vietnam. Our
President is too bright to try to micromangage the war. Johnson made all the calls in Vietnam. He micromanaged from the White House. He called all the shots. That is not happening now."
