As recently as January, Obama was dismissive of the al-Qaida breakaway Islamic militants. In an interview with the New Yorker magazine, he said comparing the group to the terrorist network established by Osama bin Laden was like comparing a junior varsity basketball team to an NBA squad.
Yet U.S. intelligence and defense officials were warning about the potential threat from the Islamic State, which had strengthened in Syria.

Anybody wonder why obama is trying to strengthen the terrorists, by either giving them weapons, or overthrowing those that have been trying to control them?
What's going on in Libya lately?

If he waits for Iraq to get its government organized, it will be too late.

Put a fork in it folks.
But that is not the idea- these are problems every civilized nation is expected to deal with, with its citizens--but these folks are not Americans-- they are ILLEGAL INVADERS-- in the country illegally and we the US citizen should not have to be worrying about them and the crimes they committ....They should be being stopped at the border- and those in the country deported...We already pay taxes which our President is sworn to use to secure our borders and protect our populace from foreign invaders...
That is where the major crime is being committed- and that is what is causing many the problems the states and local governments are facing...
GW is asleep at the wheel again...

Gave up before that- that is the reason in the election of 2008 immigration was a non-issue to me... Obama or McCain- wouldn't have mattered...

I still believe pretty much the same- accept I've pretty much given up on it being an achievable belief... Not sure if we can tactically and logistically close the border so that illegals can't get in- nor can we deport all here- especially with all the families that would need to be broken up...
I believe the only way to solve the problem is strictly enforce the law against hiring illegals that was passed with the Reagan Amnesty- and pursue harsh penalties- and make them self deport...
BUT we also know the law has never been aggresively enforced (even Reagan didn't) and will never be enforced... And with that many folks wanting immigrants for labor- it appears to me that passing some new immigration laws might be the way to go...
Like I said before- I could see the handwriting on the wall after the introduction of the Bush/Kennedy/McCain Amnesty bill- and watched the hearings in Congress-- it was becoming a non-issue between parties... With Bush signing the Wilberforce law written as it is about proved it to me...
