Reader you're the Middle East expert. Why not throw a towel on your head and go over there and ask the people. Sadaam use to kill more than that in one mass execution and did it often.

Glad we spent billions of dollars making Iraq a safe and democratic country. God forbid that the predictions of civil war ever come true, but what will we write in our history books if so? What will we have accomplished?

We accomplished the fact that we do not have to worry about a Muslim leader Saddam destroying the U.S. as he vowed to do! Now we can move on to the next crazy Muslim country to threaten us.......hhhhhm einy mieny mo, Iran you are it!

Saddam did not pose a threat to the U.S.

His neighbors yes. Israel yes.

An Iraq that falls in the hands of Islamic fundamentalists would however post a danger to the U.S.

Who knows what the aftermatch of a civil war in Iraq would be.

Perhaps but Sadaam himself told interrogators that he wanted to convey the image that he had and would use weapons of mass destruction. Since he had already done it to his own people I'm sure he would or could have done it to others. The world is a better place....and if civil war breaks out...so be it...they've been killing each othe since Mohammed came down from the mountain.

Iraqi police say a series of explosions near high-profile targets across Baghdad killed at least 75 people and wounded more than 310 others.

Wednesday's attacks made it the bloodiest day in the Iraqi capital since U.S. combat troops withdrew from urban areas on June 30.

One blast tore through a neighborhood near the heavily fortified Green Zone, covering it in debris and shattered glass. The blast went off near Iraq's Foreign Ministry and shattered windows of Iraq's parliament building.

Officials say mortar shells also struck inside the Green Zone, which is home to many foreign embassies and Iraqi government offices.

Police said another mortar attack targeted Baghdad's central governorate building, while a vehicle exploded next to Iraq's Finance Ministry in northern Baghdad.

Another blast occurred in the Salhiya district of central Baghdad, where army bases are located.

so Obama pulling our troops out has not brought safety?

the view from inside Iraq. They aren't blaming the US for anything really, but looking forward to improving their situation and have "free elections"

Life was normal and it is still normal in Iraq after these blasts. I say this on so many occasions and now the government is trying to do their best to implement better security and build-up our security forces, but the foreign countries meddling with our regime, some of them Arab, are trying to interfere with our security situation and stop us from improving the situation here.

We are still in the process of building our security forces and I would say we have reached a good percentage of building our security but, maybe, it will take us months, or towards the end of this year until we have a safer Iraq. Up until now, I am satisfied, and people here are quite satisfied, with the way things are moving along.

Even in the United States or in the United Kingdom, they are working on building up their security. You can remember the tragedy of the World Trade Center or the tragedy in London - even in those Western countries, they are building their security but here, there are still some cases where the terrorists and terrorism still thrives.

In Iraq and such countries, it is quite natural for accidents like this to happen, especially when countries like Saudi Arabia are trying to put a stick in the wheels of our security efforts.

Saddam did pose a very serious threat to the US considering that our very credibilty was at stake. We had already given him too many "or elses". Had we not backed up our words, every tin-horn dictator in the future would know that we were just a paper tiger. That would seriously threaten the US.
