 It's so good to see things are going well in Iraq:

"A string of car bombs rocked Baghdad today, killing 10 people and wounding nearly 80 in an apparent campaign to discredit Iraq's new leadership. At least 15 people were killed in other bombings and shootings.

Police also discovered the bodies of 28 people in the capital and the northern city of Mosul. They included 15 police recruits from Ramadi who were kidnapped Sunday and slain by insurgents, police said.

The seven car bombs exploded over a five-hour period in six widely separated neighborhoods across the capital. The first blast occurred near the Health Ministry and killed five people, Lt. Col. Faleh al-Mohammedawi said.

Two hours later, bombs hidden in two cars exploded near Mustansiriya University, killing five others, including a 10-year-old boy, al-Mohammedawi said. Blasts also occurred in central Baghdad, the Karradah district, Mansour and the New Baghdad area in the east of the capital.

Al-Mohammedawi put the total number of wounded at nearly 80, most of them in the two fatal bombings.

The bodies of the 15 police recruits from Ramadi were found in a small truck on the western edge of the capital, al-Mohammedawi said. All showed signs of torture. Insurgents in Ramadi, 70 miles west of Baghdad, have been warning fellow Sunnis against joining the police and army.

Three other bodies were found in Mosul, 225 miles northwest of Baghdad, including a university student who had been kidnapped earlier in the day, police said. The other bodies were found in separate areas of Baghdad.

The latest deaths brought to more than 70 the number of Iraqis reported killed in insurgency or sectarian-related violence since Jawad al-Maliki was formally tapped Saturday to head a national unity government. The United States believes a unity government of Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds is essential to halting the country's slide into chaos."

Without breaking a sweat I can probably come up with more bad things that happend in Iraq this week than you can come up with good things that have happened in the last year. This invasion has been a disaster that never should have happened. The US Army War College agrees with me on that.

The mental image of you breaking a sweat is not attractive. The thing is, the left is so invested in failure, that now they really have to play success down. I really don't think that you view any good news to come out of Iraq as positive.

You guys are so funny. All you can do is offer rude comments about me. I, on the other hand, can post news stories, government reports, etc., showing that the Bush Administration is corrupt. That Bush has lied and people have died. So have your little laugh. The country is turning against this war, just as I've said they would do when I first started posting on this board.

In fact, I'll post one right now that shows how effective Bush's War on Terror has been and it's from the Condi Rice's US State Department.

What I think is funny is the blinders that you wear. Don't you think they look a bit odd on you?

You just read one side of the story, the liberal side. You just post one side of the story, the liberal side.

You sure waste alot of energy here. Don't you have something else to do?

Oh, you are paid to do this. I see. My mistake.

Too funny. I'm wearing blinders, but you base your opinions on "faith." I should read the other side, but you base your opinions on "faith." You're free to post whatever you want. If you can come up some good news for the conservatives, please share it with us. These days, true conservatives are on Bush's case as bad as I am. He has been responsible for the growth in government, the huge Federal deficit, expansion of government programs....all of which go against a true conservative's beliefs.

I seriously doubt anyone would pay me to post on this discussion board. Even if they offered, I'd do this for free.

we have been busy no stop and the threat to coalition forces has drastically gone up since Sadam's birthday. We get hit with mortars on a daily basis and we are finding IED's left and right. There is not a day where we are not out there in the heat busting our butts and sweating in full gear even when we are on the base.

Just got this a few mintues ago from Iraq......don't sound like much progress to me!!!

so dis....what should we do? If we leave today and all our boys are home...will all be ok? What will happen to Iraq? What will happen with the talaban/al quada (misspelled) that are already there? Do you not agree that us leaving will do nothing more than provide a safe haven for our SWORN enemys?

In a year or 2 from today after we have withdrawn, what will Iraq be like? ..............let me guess.........You dont care!

The Taliban are not in Iraq. You are either ignorant or just refusing to acknowlede the facts. The Taliban were running Afghanistan. They refused to turn Bin Laden over to the US after 9/11. The US, with the backing of the entire world, went into Afghanistan and drove the Taliban out. There have been elections. Today the elected president of that country can actually drive outside the capital. There has been progress made in that country, though Bin Laden is still somewhere in the countryside. IMO, this is all good. But George Bush used 9/11 as an excuse to attack Iraq. He took his eye off Afghanistan and the Taliban and they're making a comeback in that country. He's trying to get NATO to take over Afghanistan (the country where 9/11 was planned and launched, where Bin Laden lived)! So far NATO doesn't seem willing to step in and take over, so we're mostly paying for that war, too.

Do you not agree that us leaving will do nothing more than provide a safe haven for our SWORN enemys?

Which "sworn enemies"? North Korea? Iran? I'm not real clear how many countries are our "sworn enemies." Enlighten me on who our "sworn enemies" are and how coming out of Iraq will put this counry in more danger than it's in today. Bin Laden is still loose. Saddam is in jail. Does that tell you where Bush's priorities were/are?

In a year or 2 from today after we have withdrawn, what will Iraq be like? ..............let me guess.........You dont care!

Yes, I care what happens in Iraq. I care what happens in North Korea; I care what happens in Iran. Both of the latter countries are a greater threat to the US and the world than Saddam ever was. Generals on the ground in Iraq have said we can't win in Iraq with the military. It requires a political settlement between the Iraqi people. We can't make them live together in peace. If they're not willing to do that, I say get our troops out today and let them fight it out or choose to live together. Our troops are only supporting the Shiites, while they kill Sunnis and Sunnis kill Shiites.

Thats the problem dis! Our "sworn enemy" are Talaban and Al Queda...there is no country there! Its an organization. You cant declare war on an organization. We have to go where they are and kick there ass dis! When they are ALL dead, we will go home! I believe our pres has stated we will go WHEREVER they are! They/one of them, are in iraq. I dont care to know the diff...I dont need a history lesson to know they are evil and are everywhere from Afganistan, IRAQ, IRAN, the Phillapenes (misspell) African countries, Europe, Saudi, heck the USA, wherever...wherever they are, if their country cant take care of them, WE WILL! all i know is they need to die! Since they are in iraq now, and we are also, we need to kill them dead! NO MORE!! When thats the case and their military can defend themselfs, we can go home. Let our leaders/military tell us when to pull out. A couple thousand body bags is nothing compaired to any other war. Hell, thats a small battle in most in our history. Life for life, we are winning this war of terror hands down, but by listening to Dis Fonda AKA "chicken little" our freakin sky is falling!, dont leave now...thats what the enemy want us to do.

Life for life. I don't think the life of a single Iraqi is worth the life of an American solider.

You do need a history lesson. Your ignorance is only matched by the apparent ignorance of the Bush Administration. "They'll welcome us with open arms". "They can pay for their own reconstruction." "The war will only last a few weeks." "Mission Accomplished." Do any of these have a familiar ring? Those are comments from the Bush Bunch before and early in this war. Not a single one of them have been correct. Why do you insist on believing they know what they're doing.

We can't kill everyone who hates the United States. That's a fact. Some Generals have said everytime they kill one terrorists, they create three more. You don't win a war on terror with guns. Our generals have said so. In fact, they and Runsfeld wanted stop using the term "War on Terror" because it suggested it could be won with guns. But George W. had found a manta that seemed to work with the public (sure works with you) and refused to allow the change.

"General Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the National Press Club on Monday that he had "objected to the use of the term 'war on terrorism' before, because if you call it a war, you think of people in uniform as being the solution.

so now its not a war? Maybe we should call it a "disagreement" or maybe a "falling out" or maybe a "difference of opinion" Disguise it what you will. How about the COLD WAR? that was a war without firing shots...maybe we could have renamed that to make it seem nicer for you and others who think this way. This is a war on RADICAL ISLAM and most are afraid of saying that becaus they are afraid of hurting feelings or offending others. Im sick of that shi*. Call a spade a spade!

What it is is a WAR! This is WW3, if you dont like it, there are plenty of places you could live, preferably France. You would fit in well.

You could have read the article I posted. I didn't say change the name from "War on Terror." General Richard Myers, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said he wanted to change the name because calling it a "War" suggested it could be won by the military. He says that's wrong. Rumsfeld wanted to change it, too, but Bush kept the name because it was a winner, politically. Obviously, you buy it, even though General Richard Myers says it's wrong.

What it is is a WAR! This is WW3, if you dont like it, there are plenty of places you could live, preferably France. You would fit in well.

You're laughable. This is not WWIII. This is the United States fighting a few thousand part time insurgents in Iraq. And we're not winning. Don't you think our enemies are watching and laughing their butts off at the sight of the world's strongest military being run ragged, being seriously damaged, by what Rumsfeld called a few "deadenders?"

Oh, I'm not going anywhere. This is my country, too. I plan to keep on exercising my freedom of speech. By the way, I've been to France. Nice place to visit, but wouldn't want to live there.
