I had a kid workin for me that married a girl from canada,and went on vacation,I give him a few dollars and told him to bring me back some canadaian money,because I have some canadian coins that are silver ,and wanted some more, silver dollars 50 cent pieces whatever,when he got back he handed me a bunch of coins that were half copper ? I guess canada started makin their coins like the USA bout 1/4 silver and 3/4 copper ?..............good luck

I don't think there is much copper in any of our coins other than the pennies. They don't change color like your coins do.
They quit putting much silver in them in the 60's. Mostly nickel and or zinc, I believe.
Hey, I could send you some "Canadian Tire" money if you like. Maybe those "gals" of your's would accept it at par. It is printed on paper and comes in 5cent, 10cent, 25cent,50cent,$1.00 and $2.00 denominations.![]()

There should be a date on it somewhere, but I think the $2 bills underwent at least one change, if not two since the one you pictured was issued and before they were terminated in favor of the toonie.
