Is it going to work out well for him?

On the eve of Obama's 6th State of the Union Address, Obama has a job approval rating of 39% and 65% of voters don't trust him to make the right decisions to move the US forward. A large majority hate Obamacare and now know he lied to them at every chance he could to get it passed and it cost far more than anyone was told it would. They know he lied about Benghazi to protect his political campaign rhetoric about Al Qaeda being on the run. He has not held anyone accountable for the corruption in the DOJ, DOS, IRS, or the NSA, hell he promotes them. He has sidestepped Congress and rewrote immigration laws and made so called recess appointments . He is facing lawsuits on many fronts and losing, so is his threat of using his pen and phone to push his agenda through going to work out well for him? OR will he face even more lawsuits for overstepping his executive powers?

Depends on what context you're using the word "forward".

Tam,

I feel certain that the President will continue the course just as he has said he will. He will continue to bypass Congress through Executive Actions. He will continue to appoint Executive Branch people who dislike America and desire to "fundamentally change" the country. Given the opportunity to do so, he will nominate leftist judges to fill every bench position that becomes vacant. He will create new bureaus in the Federal government and continue to encourage existing bureaus to create regulations that will harm the country.

A narcissist is unimpeded by opposition. He merely cites the opposition as proof of his superiority over those poor misinformed souls.

There is no stopping him. The Republicans are not going to win back the Senate in 2014. They very well may lose some of their advantage in the House.

Mitt knew exactly what he was talking about when he cited the 47% of our electorate who cannot be swayed by the facts.

Do you know even one Democrat who will actually forsake the party in 2014? I don't. I know some who fuss about the country, but they would never vote for a conservative.

At least, that's the way I see it.

I heard Larry Sabato, who is known for his accurate predictions when it comes to election results, and he figures the Dems will lose the Senate in 2014 ( from his mouth to God's ear) . Which sounds likely as the President has a very low job approval rating and that has affected mid terms a lot in past elections. Those discourages in their leader don't tend to come out and vote during the mid terms. Those that are pizzed at the direction the country is headed do tend to come out hence the historical lost for the Dems in 2010 mid terms.

Let's take Oldtimer's home state for example, Montana has a Democrat Senator in Max Baucus, he is retiring this year and Obama's job approval rating is sitting are 33% in that state due to Obamacare, that even Baucus, a co-writer of Obamacare, admitted was going to be a train wreck. So what is the likelihood of a Democrat being elected to that States Senate seat?

Everyday the voters are hearing how people are losing their healthcare plans due to Obamacare and how billions have been spent on websites that DON"T WORK, so don't you think that is going to have an affect on those that voted for the bill? Well they are hearing it if they are not listening to MSNBC and CNN.

Today I heard the Oregon healthcare system has cost tax payers $50,000 per enrollee. and that is because of the cost of the website that is not working to this day, that has nothing to do with the government subsidies that the enrollees are likely getting.

The Whole US healthcare system has been turned upside down for what? Obama claimed there were 45 million Americans without insurance, HHS claims they have signed up 3 million people. BUT insurance companies have said of that 3 million only 11% of them are people that did not have insurance. Reports are also saying over 6 million people have lost their insurance due to Obamacare and that number is going up everyday, Target just announced they are dropping their parttime employees healthcare plans and this follows the announcements from Home Depot and several other BIG chains. Everyday we are hearing about people being cut back to parttime hours as the employers don't want to provide healthcare to them. So the US is at a very large net lose due to Obamacare, do you not think the US voters are going to make those that supported this mess pay for it? Obama wants everyone to think it was the website rollout that made Obamacare the debacle they are witnessing but he is LYING AGAIN it was the OVERALL CONCEPT that was the trouble from the get go. Billions are being wasted and less people are being insured. The US would have been farther ahead in the game if they had just written checks to those without insurance but they likely would have just taken the money and bought a car or the newest Ipad as those that were not insured were those that did not care about being insured, hence no rush to get signed up under the NOT SO AFFORDABLE CARE ACT.

I can not see why Democrat after Democrat keep coming on the news and spewing the Democrat talking points about Millions of people are not losing their insurance due to Obamacare. When everyone knows it is the mandated requirements in Obamacare that has made the insurance companies cancel the plans people liked and is forcing them to buy more expensive plans that they DON'T LIKE. Do these people really believe people are stupid enough to believe their crap when they read in their cancelation letters that their plans don't meet the mandated requirements so they are being CANCELED?

The US better hope the Republicans take control of the Senate and stop Obama's pen before there is nothing left to save.

Obviously, people like Larry Sabato know a whole lot more about the political scene than i do, but here are some of the facts concerning the upcoming election:

1. The Democrats currently hold 53 Senate seats
2. The independents (who are simply closet Democrats) hold 2 seats
3. The Republicans hold 45 seats
4. The Vice President is also the President of the Senate and is allowed to cast a vote in the case of a tie vote.

In 2014, 20 Democrat Senators have to seek re-election
In 2014, 13 Republicans have to seek re-election

For the Republicans to gain a simple majority in the Senate, they have to retain all 13 of the seats that are up for reelection, and gain 6 new seats.

To gain a filibuster-proof majority, they have to retain all 13 seats that are up for re-election, plus gain 15 of the 20 Democrat seats that are up for re-election.

To be able to override a Presidential veto, the Republicans have to retain all 13 seats that are up for re-election, plus gain 22 of the 20 Democrat seats that up for reelection (obviously that is impossible).

The Republicans are mere light-weights when it comes to politics. The Democrats will "Eat their lunch" no matter what the outcome of the election.

At least, that's the way I see it.

Political forecaster says GOP has good shot at taking Senate in 2014
Sabato, the director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia, he believes four Senate seats, in Alaska, North Carolina, Louisiana and Arkansas, are up for grabs and Republicans would need to win three.

“They are very lucky this year in that the most competitive seats left on the board are in deeply red, Republican states where there are Democratic incumbents,” Sabato said.

In recent months, Republicans have adopted Schumer’s playbook, expanding the playing field beyond a handful of swing states. The GOP has recruited solid candidates in Michigan and Virginia, and if Scott Brown jumps into the race, Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen could face a tough challenge in New Hampshire. “Thanks to a strong field of candidates, a growing map that has expanded into purple and blue states, and a strong political environment, Republicans are well positioned to win the Senate majority in 2014,”
