I was going to poston another thread, but decided to post my own....
I read a lot of things that make sense, but have no idea if there is any truth to them....
Here is the general idea of the thougts I am talking about.....
The Big packers seemingly want to sell cheaper Beef...Maybe it will be Australian, but the idea that globalization will have this effect. Comments that they seemingly introduce more of this stuff and it becomes the expetaition of people buying it....
The second line of thought is if they lose customers to Pork and Chicken, Tyson becomes more Profitable......
Here is the kicker we in North America have.....We can still make Beef that will blow the Doors Off!.....We know how to make a product that has soo much flavor, people crave it..People will pay more...
Hell, I read mrj post that "we have all had beef from a calf that broke it's leg"...The context was about how good ranch raised beef is.....If a calf that has not been finished and has undergone that stress yields meat superior to what you can find at the grocery store.....Well....How hard can it be to win the consumer in that game?
W can win back some Power with a product people will easily pay more for....This whole deal reminds me of the Microbrewery industry..People can craft a variety of good Beef Brands just like they did with a variety of Beers.....We talk like "The big boys won't let us"...Ummmmmm...How small was Budwieser and Coors?
Just some random thoughts, mainly from reading how tough it has been for our Northern Friends.....I hope you can all last through this and will find prosperity in the future...Myself, i don't think we are done....We just can't keep doing the same things,
