Abu Hamza al-Masri, an Egyptian who is wanted in the United States on terrorism charges, was sentenced to seven years for incitement to murder. Five days earlier, Nick Griffin, chairman of the anti-immigrant British National Party, was acquitted on race hate charges relating to assaults on Islam as a "vicious, wicked faith."

a double standard ?

one is aquited of making a distasteful comment.....

and the other is convicted of "inciting murder"....and wanted on terrorist charges in the US.....

lets look at the two and see how it is not a double standard,..
The Yemeni authorities had requested Abu Hamza al-Masri arrest and extradition, claiming he was linked to plots to bomb targets there.

was detained by British authorities and is to appear before magistrates in the start of a process to extradite him to the United States, where he has been named in an indictment of participating with Earnest James Ujaama in his attempt to establish a terrorist training camp in late 1999 and early 2000 near Bly, Oregon, and providing aid to al-Qaeda.

Abu Hamza was found:
* Guilty of six charges of soliciting to murder under the Offences Against The Person Act 1861;

wanted in three countries for plots, and acts of Terrorism, charged and convicted of six counts of soliciting murder....by most accounts a radical Islamic terrorist....

On 6 April 2005, he was charged by police with four offences of using words or behaviour intended or likely to stir up racial hatred.

On 6 April February 2006, he was acquitted of two of the charges at Leeds Crown Court. The jury were unable to reach a verdict on the other two and the Crown Prosecution Service announced that they would seek a re-trial.

a jack ass, and most likely will get convicted in re-trial....just as he has been convicted for the same thing in the past.....

WE just as the British have a legal system, some jack asses go free, because their is not a law against being an ass,....but when one steps over the line and solicites murder, they should be jailed.....not a double standard......

BTW I am offended by the Ann Frank / Hitler cartoon and would not be surprised if an American Paper prints it "as News" before the end of the week.......and more then likely it will be a liberal paper that refused to print the other cartoons because they would offend the muslim world....
