Egads. Almost 6 inches of rain in the last 3 days, and its still coming down. Dumped the 4 wheeler into a hidden hole full of water, swallowed a bunch of water and seized it solid

Should have been horseback they can swallow water with no ill effects.

Oddly enough, I had that same thought. But when the weather sucks, I get lazy. In the time it takes me to catch one of my nags, saddle the bugger, and walk him out to the pasture, I can hop on the quad, do the check, and be back inside where its dry and warm

We are probably at 1/2 inch and moisture still coming down.
Changed to rain/snow mix now and is 36 degrees. At least
we don't have the horrific winds that were predicted.
We have wind, but more like 20-25 mph which is bad
enough. But still a long ways from 50 mph.

You can send it down to Texas....we're still way behind in the rain! Cows need some green grass before winter...

Speaking of winter....heard it was snowing in Montana???

Been snowing in the higher elevations- sticking on the ground on anything above about 2500 feet around here- some areas where its sticking are white and have a couple inches...Must have taken down some power lines bad as some people have been out of power now for over 8 hours....Also getting 30-40mph winds with gusts up to 50, which probably is not helping the line repair crews...

It's to early to snow isn't it??? Sounds bad. Hope folks are staying warm with the power out. Has to make me wonder what kind of winter we are all in for after this drought in Texas.

Started raining here last nite and so far weve got over three inches. Been a while since you could listen to it rain hard all nite long. Its sure a sloppy mucky mess out there today. This morning when we got up we noticed the horses werent in there pasture. After an hour of looking we found them a mile and half from home. Toook a while to get tehm back because it was just to wet to cross the field with the truck. Sure is cool out there only +6 C. Had to break out the warm Carhartt jacket to keep warm and dry!!

My Dad was born on this ranch in 1914 and he remembered when they had snow on the 4th of July.

I remember a few years back, I took him to Faith to the rodeo , in early august and I thought he was going to freeze to death. It didn't snow, but man, it got cold. I bought him an overpriced blanket to set under, cuz he wouldn't quit and let me take him home.

We have had howling wind the last 2 days and no snow, but a very lite shower. If it did rain, it would end up down around Valentaine or maybe south eastern Nebraska, the way it is blowing.

My sister in law was born on the 15 of september in the early 60's and they had a blizzard to drive thru' to get the mother to the hospital.
