some Dictator awnless barley we fenced off to bale, it is about 5' high, I direct drilled it onto chewed down grass country without fertilizer just to use up some seed & it hasn't stopped raining since(june) ,it's better than the crop we sowed into a prepared seed bed with urea.go figure.

ps the yellow stuff in the background is wild turnip it is endemic around here in spring,the whole district looks like the worlds biggest canola field.
