I know a retired soldier that has some physical and psyche issues(60% disabled), and he drives a truck professionally. When possible, he parkes his truck off to himself, shuts his truck off and reads. He likes it quiet and no emissions. I can't remember what state, but he told me a story about being off to himself in the far corner of a truck stop parking lot with his motor off and enjoying a cool breeze blowing through his truck cab. After a short while, another truck pulled up alongside him and blocked his breeze and left his truck running. My vet friend asked the guy, really? this lot is empty and you park next to me and leave your truck running? The guy just responded to the disabled retired soldier: "it's a free country"
My friend said he had to call me because he needed to talk with someone that "gets the irony." I had to post it here because everyone here "gets the irony."
