Its a soaker

I've never in my life felt like a "rain piggie."

Two thoughts always come to my mind about rain:

1. I always wish before I die, I get to live somewhere that I can say
"I wish it would quit raining." Never have found that place yet.

2. When I was little, the kids would sing, "Rain, Rain, go away, come again
another day..." I would sing, "Rain, Rain, here to stay, the sun will shine another day..."

Pretty bad, huh?

Did I mention I LOVE RAIN!!!!

It was 90 on Saturday and 95 here yeasterday we haven't had rain for 2 weeks now but it will come this is Minnesota.I got all the cows out on grass now and its belly deep on every pasture.

Now I need to go till my corn ground where I winter cows.I am getting to REALLY hate discing and planting, one corn field is seeded back into hay now and this one may end up that way also.

You could live here that way you could pray for rain then after it starts you could pray for it to stop.Boy is it green here now.

Denny, I think Minnesota is a beautiful state. I love that country around Elkton, I think it is...south of Rochester...as I recall.

But, you have too much humidity for me and the sun doesn't shine
in the winter.

I do appreciate Minnesota for all the stuff it grows. If every state
grew what Montana and Wyoming does, there would be a lot of
hungry people. JMO...

(course in that case, people would have to eat a lot of beef and lamb  )

Yep... Around here it goes from people complaining about how dry it is to people complaiining and wondering if it will ever quit raining... Even with how dry it was last year I have heard people complain about the mud this spring... We haven't had real rain since mothersday weekend and even that wasn't real rain. It just rained for 6 days straight but we only got an inch total from them system... Dreary, cold and wet... Now, sunny, beyond hot and dry.

I'm just glad folks to our west are getting rain.. Generally if out west is getteing some moisture that means we will. if you folks get real dry than we have to rely on a storm to get some gulf coast moisture up here... Doesn't happen to often, that moisture tends to stall out at around Springfield.

We wound up with just over an inch and a half over Thurs-Sunday. Most of it in the house

The last field to seed was worked on Thursday just before it rained drills are sitiing in the corner. That field was wet before it rained dad got stuck while he took a couple hours on the tractor for me (to save me time  )

Oh well we can get some calves branded and out to grass now. Holding off grass till June 1 is murder that last 2 weeks.

Just walked in the door from work, the drive home wasn't great, raining sooo hard you can't see....but I'm really happy about the rain none the less!

Your rain has been coming out of Alberta and down to us in the form of showers all day long-- don't think we've got much moisture, but kind of a fine mist off and on all day- from the radar it looks like its then circling back up to Manitoba Rancher.......

BMR,

I sure wish you were getting some of this rain. I would not wish dry ground and drought upon anybody not even haymaker....

Wish we could rope some of them rain clouds and drag them over your grass land to give it a good soaker. Hows the grass holding out BMR?

We've just finished (I think) a three day rain, although it did leak into today a bit. The grass is green and water is sitting everywhere, so we should be good for a while now. When it starts raining here around the first of June, it sometimes forgets to stop, but so far so good.

We're green but the grass is just sitting waiting for a drink. Kinda like Haymaker  The rain is around us and I was sure it would rain as I have 2 manure trucks coming tomorrow. Caught a little shower about 7 but it lasted about 4 minutes.Heard that around Rockglen got a 5 incher up on the bench that washed soil down to the hardpan. Flooded off the hills down into the town. Nobody needs that.

YAYYYYY!!! Sunshine and blue sky for the first time in 4 days!!! Temp is 61 and could get as high as 65!!! We are having a heat wave!! :lol2: :lol2:
Sure has the grass all greened up and the fields looking a whole lot better than they did a few days ago!!

What Id give for a half an inch.Still have 50 pair lotted up and dosn't look like they will see any grass this year. 2002 here we come again. I must live in the 30% of the contry with a 70% chance of rain.

I got soaked again while fencing yesterday- little cloud came out of nowhere and dumped .1 in about 10 minutes- quit about time I got back to the pickup....Another storm went thru a little later and missed us- which I'm glad because it really put down the nickel size hail I guess- I know where I was at the temp dropped from 70 to 55 in a few minutes...

So far- so good, but this country can change so fast...Predicting 90's by Friday......

We just had one of those showers pass over here OT, It was hotter than hell then after we got the thunder torm it cooled down but I see the sun breaking out again. Good chance of showers here for most of the next couple of days.
