Things have been plugging along here. It has been a busy and dry year. I thought I had better post some pics...

We are pretty excited for next year as our purebred herd has grown, we kept back all of our heifers and I have 150 cows AI'ed to sexed semen on Cole Creek Cedar Ridge 1V. Between kids and cows and kids learning about cows it should be an exciting 2016.

Your multi-generation photos will become more valuable to you as the years go by. Things change so quickly, it seems, as the next generation comes along.

Great pics, thanks for posting!

Nice pictures, RSL. Looks like all is well in your neck of the woods. The multi-generational photos are great, and they show the continuity of ranching from one generation to the next. Family heritages and traditions are invaluable.

Thanks RSL, was in your neck of the woods for a wedding in early Sept. The drought didn't look so bad by then. Like your photos and like the thickness and length of the bull to the left of the feed bunk.

You wanting heifer calves out of CR we had some the last 2 years no bull calves as of yet but the heifers look to be good cattle. Your curly haired daughter reminds me of my oldest daughter she's 26 now but her hair was that curly when she was young now it's straight as can be just like her mothers.

We used all sexed female semen on the CR bull. Based on our preg testing I think I hit about 85% conception on timed AI with him.
As for the daughter, she got my hair, but thank god for maternal genetics.

That's the problem, always running and never time to stop. It was not much of a drought if a guy had a plan. We had no germination on our corn seeded May 15 until June 10th. In late August the taps just turned on and we had a hard time getting greenfeed done up dry.
