It's Palin

Great choice. Obviously all those disgruntled Hillary supporters will cross party lines to vote for her. She CHOSE to bear a Down Syndrome child. That gets the social conservative vote. She's 44. That takes care of the younger voters. She has strong ties to the oil industry. 'Nuff said. Since she's a woman, Biden will have to handle her with kid gloves during a debate. Sounds like a winner....unless the oldest man ever elected to a first term as president has a cancer recurrence and she has to actually run the country.

Oh great....seal blubber on the menu @ the Rep Nat'l Conv.

There's talk about cancelling the Republican convention. You know, with the storm and all, the important people will need to be on top of that. I think the truth of the matter is that:

Republicans aren't happy with their candidate

They could put the money they expect to spend on the convention to better use in supporting their candidates

Many candidates don't want to be seen on TV with Bush or McCain

Following up the very positive Dem convention will be tough.

I've got to admit she's a bright light to what has become a "Good old fogies" club...Looked pretty school teacherish during her speech in her black rimmed glass's and hair up-- but I've seen a few pictures of her with her hair down- and she' even get a second look from ol jigs  .....

I have to give her credit- she didn't run off and desert her sick and disabled relatives (downs syndrome child) like some politicians do

Doesn't impress me as much of a speaker tho- and again the only high quality she could give of McCains accomplishments was again echoing his being shot down and taken prisoner  :(

OT so you still at it. You must live a real miserable life that you get off by running down Veterans and POWs. I expected more from you.

Most POW's I know moved past that- and lived a regular life without having to use it for a crutch for every mistake they make- or as the standard as their greatest accomplishment...

What you think a woman can not do the job? Come on don't be such a sexist! I have not looked into her much yet, but I bet she has more credintials than Obama does!

Be happy, the party that ended slavery has just secured the first woman in the White House for you! This should be a happy day!

Then why don't you move past it, you keep bringing it up a he77 of a lot more than McCain does. Or does it make you feel like a BIG man to condemn him and his service

ff, "Following up the very positive Dem convention will be tough."

The Dem convention must not of been real positive when you look at the bounce that Obama DIDN'T GET. However, the election is not about speechs, it's about what you've done and what you're going to do. In that case, if people open their eyes and actually think, it shouldn't be hard to beat an inexperienced socialist who associates with a bad crowd and has a problem telling the truth.

Of course, a woman can do the job. There are a few Republican women who are more than qualified to be president of the US. Why didn't McCain pick one of them? Kay Bailey Hutchinson comes to mind. But Sara Palin for sure is not one of them. The VP job is not a bone to be thrown to someone in hope of getting a few votes, especially if the potential president is an old man with health problems.

Republicans are such hypocrites and the "liberal" media lets them get away with it.

McCain has bashed Obama over and over for his lack of international experience. Obama goes on an international tour and is greeted virtually everywhere by huge crowds. And now McCain selects a former beauty queen, TV sports reporter, two years into her first term as governor, absolutely no national, much less international experience, to be one heartbeat away from the presidency. Apparently actual international experience is only important if it's a Democrat.

McCain has questioned Obama's judgment. Obama selected an experienced, tried, proven, legislator for his VP. McCain picks a beauty queen. To me that says a lot about judgement.

You democrats crack me up. I been watching MSNBC this morning and they talked about her inexperience.    She has more experience that Obama does and he is running for PRESIDENT!!! You are picking a fight that you can not win! As usual!

You look at her accomplishments and compare them to Obama and Obama should lose if she was running against him, let alone as VP. She is the perfect American story, she saw a problem and went to work fixing it. She saw corruption and she did something about it. She had a child in her belly that was going to have problems and she gave birth anyways.

And from what I hear she is a vicious competitor!

From what I can tell early on she is a Good choice for the first woman VP of America! Heck compared to Obama and his experience she would be a good choice as President over him.

lmao, who would have known that you would not support a Republican woman, bet you did not approve the Black Supreme Court Justice either.

You are such a far left loon, you have no idea about any balance to things! And as usual you will lose the Presidency because you can not be moderate!

Obama doesnot have A LOT of experience....so he covered his arse with Biden.

McCain has a lot of experience...but if he dies...we're left with a person with NO experience.

Two very different situations.

I will concede that if both presidential candidates die, then the Democratic nominee has the most inside Washington experience,,,,,,,But the question is, that the change you want?

You guys have a losing battle here, if McCain wins he has a back up by a less experienced woman, if the Democrats win they have a man running the free world that has less experience than the back up woman running as VP on the Republican ticket.

Can you say Check mate, to not only Obama but to Hillary all in one smart move!

Only thing better would have been Condoleezza Rice, but we can not have everything we want....
