Jack gets an ESPY

If he did take money to sign all that stuff. Which I think he probably did. He will deffinantly be ruled in eligible. And will be done in college. I still think the school should be doing more to keep him on the right path. I mean they sold some tickets to set next to him at some banquet for $20,000 each. The one part that kind of bugs me about him. Is when interviewed and asked about certain things he always says well I'm just 20 years old. when i was 20 i dont remember that being a valed excuse for anything. If he wants to go out and drink and have a good time that's fine I know I did when I was that age. But you just can't ditch your commitments like the Peyton manning camp thing when your hungover.
this is what I like about old school coaches like Snyder, or Osborne...the kids come before anything else..... it is not a "win at any cost" theory.... they want to prepare these young men to be assets to society.... I really think Sumlin is a coach of that caliber, but the media frenzie and the university trying to pimp out Manziel for all the cash they can is getting in his way of making the kid a better man.... plus, as a coach, if I saw the tweet Johnny sent out, I would not be very happy to have him on the team...and his team mates are probably not too happy with him either.

The hangover thing is "hearsay". So is the $20,000 tickets. Manning said he would definitely be invited back to the camp next year....now with this however, it might not even matter. Got 3 good kids backing him up that would love to have the chance to play. I say let'em. Even if he's found not guilty of anything bench him a while just because you can. If he leaves so be it.

Everything is "hearsay" in sports news Texas. Do you think Barry Bonds hit all those homeruns without steroids. It's just "hearsay" that he used you know. I know the tweets and the pictures of him at parties all the time aren't. With the money that he is bringing in to A&M you can bet the coach would be fired on Sunday if he is benched on Saturday for anything other than just awful play. They wouldn't even wait till Monday.

No you're just repeating hearsay so far. And I disagree with the comment about the coach as well. If the kid is guilty kick him off the team and let the coach move forward with what he has left. There is much more to that team than Johnny Manziel. Now whether or not they do this I have no idea.

BTW everyone knows Bonds was on the steroids. He basically rubbed in everyone's face. Same with McGuire and some others. Babe Ruth only showed up hung over. :lol2: :lol2:

There is no way in the world the AD would let the coach bench manziel if he is eligible and the best qb on the team. Who is going to tune in from a national audience to watch a&m play Alabama if the coach benches him? The answer about as many that are going to tune in across the country to watch k state this year. Not to many. You know espn college game day is going to be in town for the Alabama game. If manziel isn't playing a&m will probly drop in the polls and espn might go somewhere else.

the coach has no implication in this at all...until they say he is guilty, he is on the team, and should be able to play...if I were Sumlin, I would let the TEAM make the decision as to how to handle Johnny's apparent lack of "team effort" that he seems to be spewing these days....

I feel that ESPN needs to be held to the fire more..they created this monster...

As for no one watching KSU, we were picked to finish 6th in the Big12 last tear, and won it.... we are picked 6th again this year.... I see a shot at repeating as league champs... be a tough row to hoe, but we can do it..... we do more with 2* athletes and walk ons than Texas does with 5* guys.....

K State may very well win the big 12 again nobody knows. I really have no idea how good they are. I don't keep that close of tabs on them in the offseason. I'll probably listen to their games while harvesting and watch on the tube when I get a chance. But I live in Kansas. My point is there isn't a large nation wide audience tuning in to watch K State. And also pretty much the same with a&m. If Manziel is playing the nation wide audience for a&m is going to be conciderably bigger than if he is not playing. I bet you will watch the a&m game vs Alabama if you have a chance to jigs. Even if you think he is overated youll watch to see if he doesn't deliver.

My other point is if he's is found to have done nothing wrong, and is on the team. And the coach sets him down as Texas has metioned to let one of the other 3 capable qb's play. That's not going to set to good with the school when there is a possibility of espn gameday coming to town.

Before anyone says game day doesn't amount to anything, it's huge. If your trying to get in real good recruits for years to come and your not a traditional big time football school you need every chance you get to show off your school. Kids really love college game day and it is a big deal to them.

Game day coming to town is bigger than a bowl game in my eyes...it is far more rare...( for those of us outside the SEC )

yes, if he is still on the team and put in second string, there will be hell to pay....

I still think if I were a coach, the TEAM would vote and decide his fate.

The NCAA will decide if & when Johnny gets to play. I can guarantee that A&M is investigating and has asked them for a preliminary ruling on him until the investigation is concluded.

They do not want to get caught playing him if they think he will be ruled ineligible.

All this other stuff about him is like tiddly-winks. It doesn't matter.

Whether he sits or not is not up to the team. It's an NCAA matter now.

Manziel just needs to start using those big ash ears for something other than to keep his cap up....he needs to listen to some of the good advice some well meaning folks have been trying to give him.

Personally I'm about fed up with him. I wish him well, hope he does great IF he gets to play but also would enjoy seeing him get whacked around a bit during a game as well just to let him know he is not God.

I agree 100%, the kid is good, but if he treats the linemen like some of the stories say he has....not a smart move....they are all that is keeping him from being smashed in a ballgame....

I see a big sophomore slump for him. but no matter what, I see him in the draft next year.

really makes me proud that Klein is the type of man he is.... Hypesman voters really missed the boat on voting this year...

Kline came across as the perfect citizen.....the kind you hope your daughter marries..... and I have no doubts he is. He'll do well in life.

Demontre Moore paints a different picture of Manziel, who was featured on the cover of Texas Monthly as a super hero.

"He was always hanging out with us," Moore said. "He was just like a little brother. he's a really good kid, so I think things are being blown out of proportion just a little bit. At the end of the day, I feel like he's just going to get back to playing football.

"Things will take care of themselves. He didn't do anything wrong, and he was a class guy, when I was around him."

I think he got caught up in a whirl wind life style...it would be hard for any 19 year old kid to handle....

as for Klein, yes....role model material
