Do you have to watch your calves pretty close because of that eagle?I had a golden eagle a couple years back keep trying to grab calves one afternoon,not on my watch your not!!

I am amazed at how close we are climate wise. Your place just mirrors mine. Except for you have some really pretty herefords and i dont. But our weather patterns sure are simular. :D Thanks for the update Nicky! :D

Nicky you just made the evening for a 4 year old... My granddaughter had me going back and forth over "the calves" and "the bird that eats rabbits" and "bulls fighting" pictures for half an hour... She loves her animals...

Awesome! You gotta send me those calves!... :D That mountains behind the hay pic is great! I've been loving this moon for night chores....don't need a flash light at all. I hope the rest of our calving goes well!

Jody, we are down quite abit from last year which is scary! Thanks everyone :)

Bald eagles have not yet bothered the calves, they come for the afterbirth.

Lazy Ace, did you recognize the red bull?

great photos. i have to agree with lazy ace, that hereford bull needs to do a better job of choosing his battles. :wink: :D

Those bulls arent fighting. They are putting thier heads together as they decide on a breeding plan when spring shows up. Or from the look of them, they are asleep and leanin' on each other. :lol:

we have problem with ravens coming in and trying to pick at a new born calf. usully there a good mother and there no problem.
