There are 68 head of these bred heifers that will sell at Martin Livestock, Martin, SD on Monday, January 18, 2010.

They should make a pretty good bunch of cows.

Low birthweight Angus bulls, sons of Automatic, were turned with them on May 20, 2009. They should start calving around
the 20th of February, with a sixty day calving season.

We are also selling 110 bred heifers at Valentine Livestock Auction on Thursday, January 21, 2010,
for anyone that wants to buy some but can't make it to the Martin sale.

Another picture of my twine cutter. Guess these aren't being made anymore by the supplier,
so I bought a couple more while they were still available.

I don't really pay too much attention to Angus Pedigrees and names, but Automatic seems like a new one to me. I'm wondering if Soap is up to something  since he previously reported that he really doesn't get too excited about pedigrees. However, I would think Automatic would be a good bull to breed to.....those calves will automatically slip right out

That is the theory, anyway.

Thanks, Oldtimer. This is the sire of the bulls that bred the heifers. Hopefully these girls will calve easily. I sure liked the looks of the bulls last spring when they were purchased from Shadbolt Cattle Company of Gordon, Nebraska.

Thanks for the education :D I had just not heard of that one. I guess I thought Soapweed was using his talent of creative writing. Hope the bred heifer market is Automatically higher since the grain markets have taken a dump :(

You Automatically assumed I was just being myself and not taking life too seriously, didn't you, Sundancer?

I remember when Mom got her first "automatic" washing machine. It surprised me that she still had to put clothes in it by hand. One would assume that the automatic washing machine would have a robotic arm that would just pick up the clothes to automatically load itself. :?

These Automatic sired calves will probably still need to be paired out by person, even though the birthing process should hopefully be Automatic.
