At the Men's Retreat on Saturday, held annually at Pleasant Point Church down in the middle of nowhere deep in the heart
of the Sandhills. There is not even any cell phone service down in this neck of the woods.

At least 105 men showed up for a very inspirational day.

Using a favorite shotgun to demonstrate how we can both love and fear something, as in both the love of God, and the fear of God.

It is so slick in this country, you could not work cattle horseback
and stay right side up. Snow and then rain and then cold. It's
treacherous out there. A neighbor said he watched his calves
slide down a hill and not be able to stop until they hit a snowbank.

A retreat without cell service is a real blessing...
I bet if you figure out the extra time getting wet, vs. having a few more heifers last one more year, it works out to pretty good pay by the hour. :D

There is a reason I wear heavy chaps and overshoes. After having this contraption for several years, though, I am getting to be like a cow with a newborn calf in a box stall--I don't hit it very often anymore. :)
