If the beef industry would follow the rules then maybe the USDA would not have to cover up your problem

Go ahead Mike laugh, see if your noncompliant beef industry is going to be regaining any Creditiblity by shipping ban produced to a country that is watching your every move. Blame the USDA but remember The USDA isn't the one selling the beef to Japan you are.

Tam: Go ahead Mike laugh, see if your noncompliant beef industry is going to be regaining any Creditiblity by shipping ban produced to a country that is watching your every move. Blame the USDA but remember The USDA isn't the one selling the beef to Japan you are. Rolling Eyes

I'm laughing OK. You betcha I'm laughing.

The USDA is covering up "MY" mistakes?

Yea I'm laughing Tam.

And I'm not laughing WITH you, I'm laughing AT you.

Brings up a good question though. Who loads the containers. The packers or the export broker?

Doesn't matter.

The FSIS is supposed to inspect it.

The USDA admitted that they had not done it properly back in January.

Tam, "I don't trust the US beef industry as a whole to be forthright.

You still didn't answer my question. I asked a question specific of the USDA.

Tam, "BTW you never answered my question who is responsible for following the rules that the USDA writes?"

Whoever the specific rule is aimed at, Tam. If it's a packer rule, its the packer - if its a rule aimed at producers, it's the producers. Kind of a silly question, isn't it?

Sandhusker, Tam is coming up with some real zingers today!

I think she's been sitting around the house too long.

She said the USDA is having to cover up for our mistakes!

I'm fairly certain she's SH's sister - their rationale is strikingly similar.

She'll crab and moan about the USDA not testing enough, covering up cases, et... , but she won't admit she doesn't trust them because that would mean she would share a belief with R-CALF members, and that would cause her to melt!

OK smart guys the USDA wrote a feed ban that ban feeding ruminants back to ruminant but when the GAO did their investigation on the claimed compliance record who did they find NOT COMPLYING, the USDA OR THE US BEEF INDUSTRY?

Japan found ban produces in their country who processed and boxed the ban product, the USDA or the US BEEF INDUSTRY?

When BSE was found in the US was there a system in place to aid the USDA in their investigation to the origin of the animal?

and who is to blame as they didn't want to be burdened with a national ID system, the USDA or the US BEEF INDUSTRY?

When the USDA was told by the OIE to test 4D cattle in the US to find your herds true prevelance who had those targeted animals the USDA or the US BEEF INDUSTRY?

Blame the USDA for your industries shortcoming and non compliance but that will not change the facts that it was US feed mills manufacturing illegal feed and feedlots feeding it. , The packers boxing ban produce to be shipped to Japan , or the US producers being reluctant to give access to the USDA to test or ID their cattle as that just might force them to take responsibility for their part in the whole credibility mess. I have admitted I don't trust the USDA as they are the regulatory agency that are trying to save the US beef industry from the US beef industry themselves. Maybe if they weren't having to deal with your noncompliance and reluctance to help yourself they could be TRUSTED.

You know Tam, I find it highly hypocritical of you that you don't trust the USDA, but yet you condemn R-CALF's taking the USDA to court because we don't trust them, either. You don't trust the USDA's judgement on the number of BSE cases we have here, but R-CALF is supposed to trust their judgment on your BSE situation. That's not real impressive, Tam.

Sandhusker YOU and R-CALF have claimed that you don't trust the USDA and you blame them for all US BEEF PROBLEMS.

quote from Leo McDonnell
"we know if we are going to keep consumer confidence we are going to maintain some of the highest standards in the world to make sure that BSE is not introduced into this country. And we are going to make sure we have the best meat and bone meal ban in this country in place. So if for some reason we did find a case we can stand and look our consumers right in the eye and say, don't worry we have had these firewalls in place for years, the only country prior to having a case of BSE to have these firewalls in place for so many years. And we did it to make sure if a case was ever found it was a non-issue. If we look them right in the eye and say that I will guarantee they will keep eating beef".
So tell us who is in charge of implementing the firewalls and safeguards that according to LEO are protecting US consumers. Who is in charge of maintaining the firewalls that render your beef the SAFEST BEEF IN THE WORLD? If you don't trust the USDA is doing their job then how can you buy Newspaper ads claiming you have the safest beef in the world? How can you stand and look your consumers in the eye and tell them your beef is safe when you don't trust the government agency that is charge of the safety of your beef? I don't trust the USDA but unlike you I'm not claiming US beef is the safest beef in the world. My problem with you R-CALFers is you will say what ever fits the agenda. If you want the consumer to keep eating US beef the USDA is doing a great job but if you want to further your no trade agenda the USDA are a bunch of idiots that are to blame for all your problems. Pick a side Sandhusker you can't have it both ways.

I would bet a pile of money that if R-calf wasnt interested in keeping Canadian beef and cattle out of the US that they wouldnt be taking the USDA to court. You R-calfers are all a bunch of protectionist idiots.

Thanks for worrying about the amount I type  but how about answering this question ranch hand, if it is the packers/ producers/ feed mills that are to follow the rules then why do some of you blame the USDA for the results of the actions of the US BEEF INDUSTRY? Why not blame those that broke the rules and do what you can to support the agency that is trying to protect you?

How can R-CALF be protectionist when they are on record as supporting various trade agreements?

Tam, "Sandhusker YOU and R-CALF have claimed that you don't trust the USDA and you blame them for all US BEEF PROBLEMS"

R-CALF and I blame USDA for all US beef problems? Good grief. Your string of rediculous comments is extended. Now I know you're SH's kin.

You care to explain why you continually chastise R-CALF taking the USDA to court because we don't trust their judgement when you don't trust their judgement either? Whats up with that vocal double standard you have, Tam?
