I could find many words to show that GOD wants us to be productive..

“The desire of the lazy man kills him, for his hands refuse to labor.”

“The hand of the diligent will rule, but the lazy man will be put to forced labor.”

“Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise.”

“The lazy man will not plow because of winter; he will beg during harvest and have nothing.”

“The soul of the lazy man desires and has nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.”

“Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.”

If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.

“But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”

but the fact is.. socialism is government led compulsory service..

Jesus challenged us to lead with our heart and soul.. and to live according to those teachings.. to give when we see need, to save and store for hard times, to grow and be productive, so we can care for others.. and to not be a burden to others.. a difficult challenge.. yet one that makes a person better..

I don't profess to be a Christian, but that makes sense to me..

I think society would benefit with some voluntary charity, instead of "forced charity" through taxation. I think it makes a person (giver and receiver) value it more and be all that more willing to give and appreciate.

I don't picture Jesus as a sociialist, or one that would give through "forced charity", but one that would give voluntarily.

The article is an attempt to manipulate those that are religious towards a political agenda, IMO.

But a good attempt at redefining socialism none the less.

To say that Jesus was a Socialist shows a profound ignorance of what Socialism really is. Socialism is NOT to be confused with generosity or compassion.
