A half-million dollar stimulus grant intended to create or save jobs in New Mexico so far has bought 150 hours of observing monkeys and trips to Vienna and Barcelona. After nearly three years, the project has reported creating or saving only 1 full time job on average per year. And that job has now left the state.

Duke University got $200 million in stimulus and this was just one of the projects they funded

Andrew Sweeting, an assistant professor of economics, is expanding his research on the mechanisms of pricing and selling "perishable goods" like airline tickets and radio advertising that become worthless if they stay on the shelves past their due date. Understanding these dynamics in more than a theoretical sense may help firms sell their products more efficiently. The funding will support one graduate student and some research-related travel.

Really do US tax payers need to fund studies on pricing of airline tickets and radio advertising?

Studies like these prove there is NOTHING a liberal will not waste your tax dollars on. As long as there is a LIBERAL LOON in the White House you can guarantee these studies will see all the funding the Professors conducting them can dream up and ask for. Nothing can be done by the Private sector when there is government money to be handed out to BUY VOTES.
