Join renowned grazier and livestock breeder Johann Zietsman from Zimbabwe. Mr. Zeitsman studied livestock under Jan Bonsma and is also a Holistic Manage- ment practitioner mentioned in Alan Savory's book. He is acknowledged as the first person to use Ultra High Stock Density. His practical knowledge of grazing and livestock are unique. He is joined for these sessions by Jim Elizondo from Mexico. Mr. Elizondo has been using regenerative grazing to heal and improve the environment with cattle for many years. He also been a user and franchise owner in Mexico of Free Choice Enterprises livestock mineral for over 15 years.
Topics Covered: correct hormone balance, good body condition, high relative intake, adaptation, high practical fertility, composite breeding for specific environments, rank- ing of young bulls, accelerated genetic improvement, determining the correct calving season, simple drought reserve planning, effects of various tools for environment im- provement, how to control brush with cattle, adding humus for more forage production and an improved environment, the importance of trees for livestock, simple ways to implement ultra high density grazing and the season conducive to its use, alternating UHSD with rotational grazing in different environments, ruminant nutrition and cafe- teria style free choice minerals and its impact on health of cattle and much more.
Day 1: 8:00-5:00 Classroom teaching
Day 2: 8:00-5:00 Field exercises in the morning, classroom in the afternoon.
Day 3: 8:00-5:00 Field exercises in the morning, classroom in the afternoon
Lunch is included all three days. There will be lots of time for interaction with Johann, Jim, Chad and Doug. These promise to be two of the best learning opportunities of the year.
Tuition for the class is $500 with a $200 discount for the second person from the same ranch or operation. A $200 deposit will hold your seat.
