I also heard about the bad weather they're getting. Take care guys and gals.

We've had that awful wind now for two days, blowing the snow all over the place. It's warmed up alot this morning, so now it's all sticky wet, and making the roads interesting. They say it could rain and then turn into snow. We have to go to P.A. today to pick up a dozer blade, we're driving a Dodge 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive pulling a bumper hitch trailer. Could be an adventure! That truck is the most useless vehicle on four tires! It gets stuck and slips and slides even if there's a skiff of snow, let alone the the 10 inches we have.

Well Shelley you don't 'have to go' today-that snow will still be there to be dozed in a day or so. I herded my truck down to Macrorie on the ice last Wednesday wasn't alot of fun. The great hunting made up for it though.

All right you little monkeys! Just got the power on now it's 3:00 our time. It was out for about 24 hours so we had too rough it for a bit. Built a really cozy fire in the living room and slept in there last night. Had fun playin monopoly with Brax, who was in torment not being able to use his x-box LOL! I'm feeling pretty lucky though as alot of areas power is still out. Not really sure what happened, we had winds up to 100 KMH but for what ever reason they went right past my house  I was watching the trees across the road blow around and snap off like toothpicks. The trees at my home barely even moved! How is that for weird! I went out to Timmy's for coffee this morning and there is debris everywhere. Kind of weird seeing the powerlines snappin and jerkin with trees all over them. They are still picking up the fallen trees off the freeway as well. Not sure when power will be back on in Langley proper but they are telling everyone to stay at home. But as for us we now have power and are snug like bugs :)

Glad to hear you are safe, Judith.

We had a tornado right at our place in Western Mt. in 1981.
Took down about 500 cottonwood trees. Our daughter had a
1979 GMC Jimmy pickups parked in front of the house. She
had been chopping down Hensbane (that is a weed) in the corrals
and she had put it in the back of the Jimmy. The wind took
all those trees and the Hensbane was still there, undisturbed.

Swirling wind is a funny thing.

We had old horseshoes in the barn that wound up in the tree tops.

Good grief woman, you're lucky that you didn't burn the house down!

Better just stick with building a fire in the stove next time you feel like playing with matches.

Your wind got to us about 11AM yesterday...We started working a truckload of calves at daybreak- it was beautiful out- 60 degrees -no wind, almost had to take your coat off...Then that wind hit while I was at the Sale Barn- about 50mph...

Now today it is plumb still- but a little cooler- ony 22...The wind is probably passing South Dakota or maybe even further east as fast as it was moving.....

The night before last we had 122kph or about 70 mph winds and a grass fire ripped right by our place. Luckily 4 hours later the winds changed direction and the fire went back over what was already burnt and the fire dept. was able to get it out.
That would have been fun trying to trail horses and cattle in that wind at night. luckily they way the fire went was not in the direct way of anybodys stock.
The coulies and hills cause the wind to go in all different directions at once. No moon that night.
Thats one advantage of not having much. I dont have much to lose.

Wow, this is one weird November for the lot of us. Roper I hope everything is OK with your grass fire. They can be pretty unnerving. It is safe enough this morning that I can go out side and fix the fencing. Lots o widow makers hanging. I'll be hauling them out of the trees this afternoon. We got a bit more wind last night but not to bad. Hydro is still running around like crazy trying to get everyone back on the grid. Nonothing have you still got that nasty wind or are you in the clear? Hope everyone has a good one! Stay safe

Roper, you must live pretty close to DJL,she was talking about a fire close to her place too.

That wind yesterday was one of the worst I've ever seen, today its way calmer. But yikes ICE everywhere
