A couple of look alike young fellers. Of course the reason they look alike is that they are twins.

That's my favorite Russell work. Have you seen his sketches that illustrated for Will James books? I bet I know that answer, but just checking...

Sandhusker, was that auction the recent one in the west end of NE.....don't recall the location, but someone in this household wanted very much to be there, and haying prevented it.

To avoid confusion, I am Soapweed, original poster of this thread. Sandhusker is my friend. He used to be a loan officer at the local bank, but now owns the service station/convenience store in our local town. The auction was Delbert Fullerton's sale, which was held in Cody this past Sunday. There were lots of interesting items at this auction. Sandhusker just happened to be on hand when I took the picture of the saddle. He played "host" in showing off the padded seat. The weather was perfect, and lots of people showed up. I think everyone enjoyed the day immensely, unless perhaps they woke up the next morning with "buyer's remorse." :? :)

Thanks Soapweed! And apologies to all for the mis-identification.

I suspect Cody is not as far west as the auction that nearly pulled our vehicle toward th southwest of us earlier this month.....and the stronger pull of the hayfield is finally weakening......we are headingfor Cheyenne tomorrow.

But the more pressing crop of hay barley is in the bales now. The crew can handle the rest of this week for the 'elder' partners to get some rest and recreation and for one party to try different 'exercises' for the new knee after riding horseback and the tractor were successfull, we will see how plenty of walking goes.

That beautiful garden (as well as the gardener) don't appear to be suffering from the grasshopper and gray beetle plagues in this area!

Great photo's, as usual. It is almost good as travelling to see ALL the photo's so many post on this site.
