June Rains- Coming in July

I must be holding my toothpick right now- because we are getting the rain we couldn't get a drop of in June... Had another rain shower move in yesterday afternoon and picked up another .4 over the night-- that makes about 3/4 of an inch for the week.... :)
And its looking like it could start back in any minute...

Weather boys have a chance of rain or thundershowers predicted for the whole week.... :)

glad to hear you got some rain, OT. hopefully you can get some more. we got a half inch last night. we are not as dry as you by any means, but this half inch was very welcomed. only had 30 acres of oats down this time. this rain couldn't have come at a better time for the second cutting of alfalfa :)

I spoke too soon....All morning it was one little thunderstorm after another came over...I didn't get much accomplished today- but we did pick up another 1/4 of an inch down here on the river... :) One of the little thundershowers had some pea sized hail- but not enough to do any damage....

And they say this pattern could hold all week thru the weekend...I thank the Canadians for sharing...

We had .2 this morning, but we've had rain showers since then.

We were soooooo needing it and it can rain some more.
Wasn't much lightening or wind with it either. Just a real
nice enjoyable rain.

Been clear and HOT here for two weeks. Have a forest fire from a dry lightning storm that passed through last Sunday. It is in a park so FS can't touch it until it is outside the boundary. About 25 miles away and spreading in all directions. We do have a nine year record here at home as there has been no frost for over two weeks. :D

Got hit this weekend by a thunderstorm and got .85" out of it. South of us guys got anywhere from 2 inches to 3 inches out of that storm.
Hubby just checked the rain amounts and we have gotten over 5 inches of rain for this month.

Had clothes out on the line today when it suddenly started raining again. Rather crazy weather. Rather cool tonight too.

Another lightning storm this afternoon, several more fires in the area.
Rained puddles on the road between home and where we are haying. Have everything baled at this point.

It's rare we get any type of rain this time of summer. We've been trying to beat the hoppers to the alfalfa, and working around the rain. We're not done haying yet and I'm not complaining about the rain, only the grasshoppers. It rained all morning this AM but sun is trying to shine and wind is blowing so I guess I can get back on the swather and knock down more before the hoppers eat it.

If you're not a smoker, you might be now!

the hoppers are horrible here too. a couple neighbors have some millet seeded and you can see from miles away what the hoopers have done. one field i saw just a couple miles from me looks like the guy took a 30 ft. disk and made a round around the field. they are going through that millet at a disturbing rate. i got 110 acres of second cutting to start as soon as this wheather clears, haven't noticed them in there to bad. but like you, i'm gonna cut it before they do.

The rain storm we got on Sunday knocked a lot of wheat to the ground it rained so hard.
Rained again this morning. we are 6 hundredths from having 6 inches of rain for July.
