Just another day in Iraq

More Americans and Iraqis died while the elected Iraqi "leaders" decided not to meet again to try and establish a government. But Bush refuses to pressure these people. I say give them a deadline. That seems to be all they understand. Link below; my emphasis.

"U.S. military deaths in Iraq have risen sharply in April -- after five straight months of decline -- amid warnings by American officials that the failure to form a new Iraqi government has helped perpetuate violence. ."

IT TAKES TIME! How much I'm not sure but there are minds at work on this situation that are far more educated in these type of situations.

dis see's the DOOM & GLOOM in the Link below.

The Bush Administration is full of incompetent people. He's afraid to hire anyone smarter than him. That certainly limits his selection pool. The same people who said "Iraqis will welcome us with open arms", Iraq can pay for it's own reconstruction", "the war will last only a few weeks" are still in charge. They haven't been right about anything yet. Why would you think they are right about the future of Iraq? Serious question here. Why?

I doubt that the families of the dead soliders will be impressed with your rearranging the emphasis. Their loved ones are still gone. Spinning their deaths won't ease the pain of their loss.

I will try today to post some pics I got yesterday of " just another day in Iraq" if this Gallery will let me.

One of my " boys" took a piece of shrapnel to the face....about the size of a .38 bullet.....I've got the pics of incident from a convoy truck just behind....kid on the ground....guards fanned out in all directions for cover, the Sgt kneeling over the kid on the highway, etc.

Yeah..it was just another day in Iraq.....I doubt you can claim this was made up!

Just tried to upload the photo...won't let me, so ya just gotta take my word on this one! Maybe later it will.

So sad. And the elected Iraqi "leaders" have casually said they're taking a few days off working on the new government. How can people continue to support this terrible, terrible quagmire? How can people not call for Bush's impeachment for putting our military into a no win situation?

War is hell! So they got shrapnal in the face....do you think that is uncommon? Its too bad but people get hurt in war. Many get killed. If you or anyone actuallly thought we were gonna go to war and not get some killed or injured, sorry.

Each and every one of the troops over there volunteered for service. It dont make me happy when someone gets killed or injured. I feel that some people on here watch the news and rejoice when they find out americans were killed today.....so they can say "see, our boys are dying, get them out" They signed up for service knowing dang well they may have to go to war. My entire family is/was military and or retired military. I have a sister in law in the guard who bawled like a baby when she found out she was being deployed. I felt bad but ya know what? She had been drawing the weekend warrior pay for 20 years.....so i didnt feel sorry. People get hurt in war people....

Waiting to see your pic of Jane Dis Fonda sitting on top of a talaban anti-aircraft gun....got any of those to post?

Yes, war is hell. That's why a president should never, ever send our troops off to hell without it being our national interests. He should not send them off undermanned, without their heavy armor or personal body armor. Bush did all these things. People do get hurt and killed. But they didn't have to be in Iraq. They're there because George W. Bush wanted to get Saddam. It's his personal vendetta, nothing more.

Not true. The Army has put a stop loss order in place. Some people scheduled to get out can't. Traditionally National Guard units work in their home state; they certainly didn't expect to be sent off for years to a foreign country.

There you go again, trying to confuse the issue. Iraq has nothing to do with the Taliban. The Taliban was involved with Osama Bin Laden who planned the 9/11 attack against this country; Saddam wasn't. Keep spinning, though, some people still don't know the difference. But we're working hard on this board to be sure everyone who reads it knows the difference.

:D Personal insults. That always happens when Bush defenders run out of arguments. Too bad; I was enjoying laying it all out again for those new lurkers.

About the body armour. A young soldier from here just returned home 2 days ago.He says they didn't want the armour. It was way too heavy. They were packing 70# packs as it was.

BTW; He knows why that war needs fought. He knows why we are there. And he intends to go to ROTC next.

Too bad you aren't running the country, Dis, but you aren't.
