What happened to Ron Paul's campaign? I know he's still in things, but I had assumed he was to be a front-runner. Was I wrong?
I wouldn't say that he's "still in things" because he never has really been in it. I guess you got some bad info somewhere - maybe from PCC updates? I get those and I notice that Kit talks him up pretty good.

There seems to be a pretty diverse group like Kit and a lot of young people and service people backing Paul, but there's just not enough of them. He's got some good ideas, but overall he's kinda kooky.

He can sure be a spoiler, though. I think ff is going to send him a couple of grand if he'll run as an independent.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows John McCain and Mike Huckabee tied in the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination. Nationally, it’s McCain 19%, Mike Huckabee 19%, Rudy Giuliani 17%, Mitt Romney 15%, and Fred Thompson at 13%. Ron Paul attracts 4% support.

I certainly noticed Kit's support - almost all of his updates have something about Ron Paul in them. I had just caught little media blurbs here and there and made an assumption. I'd like to actually here him speak, mainly because anyone getting support from grassroots people and diverse groups, is usually talking the same language as those folks, as opposed to the backers of corporate North America.

I think Ron Paul's appeal is that he wants to take power away from the president's office. Power has been concentrated on the federal level for some time and in particular, in the executive branch.

Many people see how politicians have misused this power and want it to stop.

Ron Paul is radical in his views, but many people believe that is what we need because we have gone too far and need to change, instead of the same ole same ole "trust me" but the same thing happens under their administration. Many of us had high hopes for GW in this regard but have been severely disappointed with the results. It seems GW separated himself from that type of action but hired Carl Rove to do it for him. It was just the Texas Two Step over again.

I do want to point out that the movement with Ron Paul is not anti corporate, it is anti govt. intervention for corporations, which is what our federal agencies have done more and more, to the benefit of politicians allowing the selling out of America.

I will point out that corporations in general, have not done as well under Bush as under Clinton if you look at the stock market. It has only been selected corporations who happen to also be big contributors with a lot of lobbying, feeding the revolving door of politicians and business.

The vast majority of businesses, small businesses in particular, have not participated in this huge transfer of wealth from taxpayers to prvt. companies. Those connected with the govt. and particular politicians have.
