Hello all,
This is my friend in the blue shirt up front of the mule team. Jim lives in Bishop and I stay with him usually when I volunteer for Bishop Mule Days each year. He helps works with these mules in Bishop in the parade on Memorial Day and when they go on the road. . Bob Tanner owns the mules and is the driver in this video.. It is interesting how the team works and the jumper mules know how to move across the drag chain that they all are attached to for pulling. When the mules turn corners, the wheel teams shifts to the opposite side of the turn so the wagons will not cut the corner. It is something to watch and the driver shouts commands and has a "jerk line" to only certain teams (2) of mules for direction. Enjoy.

This is the team we take up to Ketchum, Idaho for Labor Day Parade there. This shows the "jumpers" moving back and forth across the center chain. Click on "20 Mule Wagon Team". Pause it once you come up on the site and let it load first. This was taken last year in Ketchum during "practice"! We start working the mules in the morning here and leave next Thursday for Ketchum.
