While I am not surprized at this - can you remember the name of the media outlet?

Thanks for the chuckle

FOX, They were talking about Clinton, Kerry and Pelosi all being over seas visiting different countries and how some other guy was coming to the US and then they commented on Obama making his first overseas trip to Canada. I didn't know the Great lakes were considered over seas BUT. I'm somehow not surprised either, just thought it funny :wink:

YEP- they don't allow FOX news in Canada- so Hannity/O'Reilly wouldn't care where it is...

It was neither Hannity or O'Reilly. But from what I see Hannity and O'Reilly don't have a tingle going up their legs at the sound of Obama's voice. And it is not their jobs to make sure Obama is a success. It is their job to report the news and if it goes against Obama then to bad. Kind of refreshing considering the news coming out of MSNBC. :wink:

Of course it's Fox Alice I don't watch networks that opennly claim it is their job to make sure Obama is success when I want to hear the truth. :roll:

I have yet to ever hear O'Reilly or Hannity do their job then. I listen to Fox on Sirius quite a bit (I don't know why really, they just irritate me) and have yet to get unbiased info from them. I consider myself a conservative but they are really overboard. I would consider them to be 'editorialists' not news reporters. And then they invite people on who's views are contradictory to their own, call it an interview, and beat these poor shmucks over the head, interrupting them constantly, and call what they do "fair and balanced".
But... it's better than listening to Nancy Grace.
If you want to listen to news that lets you make up your own mind, the BBC is by far and away the best place to get informed.... IMHO

Nancy Grace is a joke! She's nice to look at but must be dreadful on the radio.

I agree about BBC. The Internet has also given us many more choices for news. The U.S. stations all tend to be about gaining eye share and not about journalism.

Yep-The US stations are all into sensationalism to try and get market share--and if there is nothing sensationalist going on, they go out and make it into that ...

you mean like making up crap about Sarah Palin and her family and putting it out like it is news like the Daily KOS did? you seem to think that was a reliable news source one day Oldtimer. :wink:

No different then your FAUX News-- that Bush's former press secretary testified to Congress they used to put out propoganda and unsubstantiated and questionable info- especially in the run up to Bush's war because they knew they would report anything they told them without checking out the accuracy :roll:

Personally I think it is a dangerous trend when the media sensationalizes, editorializes, and pushes their own agenda. I don't know if it's just an American major network thing, or if it has become much more pervasive than that. I often feel that our CBC is a left leaning, artsy fartsy kind of station, but at least their news is fair and just the news. I've listened to NPR a few times and it seemed quite similar to the CBC. On either channel if someone is being interviewed they get to make their case and we are left to form our own opinions about what we just heard.

Neither O'Reilly nor Hannity are reporters, they are not news shows they are political commentators, entertainers just like Bill Maher, you are comparing Apples to Oranges.

If you want news reporting on fox you watch the news not the entertainment shows. :roll:

Try watching someone like Bret Baier for fair and balanced news.

Your really need to know what is what to form a fair opinion!

Obama Administration Boosts O’Reilly Factor TV Ratings
Posted on 06 February 2009 by Bill Gorman

Our friend Steve Krakauer at TVNewser notes that the Obama presidency has been good for Fox News Channel ratings. While we do post daily cable news TV ratings ourselves, and you are welcome to do your own trend analysis, I think our ongoing chart of O’Reilly Factor vs. Countdown with Keith Olbermann ratings is worth a thousand words.

O’Reilly Factor ratings are up sharply adding around a million viewers a night compared to mid-January,

Nielsens ratings for Feb. 9-15
Cable: Top 15
Rank Show name Network Viewers in millions

1. NBA All-Star Game TNT 7.6

2. NBA Events TNT 6.6

3. The Closer TNT 5.4

* WWE Raw (Mon, 10 p.m.) USA 5.4

5. Monk USA 5.1

* WWE Raw (Mon, 9 p.m.) USA 5.1

7. Burn Notice USA 4.8

8. NBA All-Star Tipoff TNT 4.6

9. Obama Press Conference Fox News 4.3

* Psych USA 4.3

11. ICarly Nick 3.9

* Wizards of Waverly Place Disney 3.9

* O'Reilly Factor (Thurs., 8 p.m.) Fox News 3.9

14. NBA Tipoff TNT 3.8

15. O'Reilly Factor (Mon, 9 p.m.) Fox News 3.7

Well an increace in market share since Sept 2008 and two of the top fifteen shows just last week were no other than O'Reilly on FOX so I guess I'm not alone while I watch FOX. :wink:

Nobody said people don't watch. Hell, I watch him too. Doesn't mean he's right or what he's doing is right.

If you don't like what you are watching then change the channel and watch something else. :roll:
