Kelpie Pups

Our female Tilly, had pups on Monday. She had 7, 3 girls and 4 boys. We'll keep one as their sire is getting older and just isn't able to keep up as well as he used to when working cattle. Don't know which one yet, have to see what their attitudes are when they get going.

Nice looking dogs. Are they Kelpies?
That dirt bank doesn't look like a very nice place to have pups,
so I suppose you have them in a better place by now.

Nice wee babies! I sometimes miss seeing newborns since we got our mommas spayed.

Did the momma dig that hole or did she move into one that was already there? I know they will do some unusual things when they are ready to whelp.

Yes, they are kelpies.

Mama actually has a decent doghouse, but she decided to dig the hole. They are pretty dry and comfy down there and it's nice and cool right now as we've had some pretty hot days. Might have a problem if we get a thunderstorm though.
