Kentucky Sheriff to Obama: No Gun Control in My County

Posted on 12 January, 2013 by Amy

Jackson County Kentucky Sheriff Denny Peyman is making it clear that no law that violates the Constitution will be upheld in his county.
This especially applies to new gun control edicts Obama & Co. are trying to push onto the American people.

Said Peyman: “My office will not comply with any federal action which violates the United States Constitution or the Kentucky Constitution which I swore uphold.”

And far from worrying about repercussions for doing this, Peyman sees the gun control push as a sign of weakness that will crumble in the face of real opposition: “Just a few of us have to be willing to stand up to political opposition putting our people at risk. The other side will back down.”

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have found a patriot. And his name is Sheriff Denny Peyman.

So you tell me what will this county Sheriff do when he catchs DEA, FBI, or IRS Agents working cases in his county-- arrest them?... Under what law?
Forceably remove them or try to take into custody? Then he has committed assault against a Federal Agent and Kidnapping- federal crimes.... Shoot it out with them at high noon if they refuse to be arrested ?

All you folks who believe in this- go ask your Sheriff how he will rid the county of Federal law enforcement agents... I'm curious to learn something.. I really want to know... I've heard several Sheriff's blowing smoke over the years - but never heard a one have a real answer when confronted because they know the Supremacy Clause gives the Federal Law Enforcement the authority to operate anywhere in the U.S. without seeking the permission of any local authority...

OT must be claiming that the DEA, FBI, or IRS Agents, will be enforcing unconstitutional laws in this sherriffs county.

Said Peyman: "My office will not comply with any federal action which violates the United States Constitution or the Kentucky Constitution which I swore to uphold."

I've read every word here in this thread, and every word in the links posted, and absolutely no where did I see anything remotely related to the sheriff in question saying he'd do anything if he "caught" DEA, FBI, IRS, HNIC or any other federal agents working in his county.

This is why I say OT that you either have some sort of reading comprehension problem or you're just intellectually dishonest and like to argue points that no one made.

The man says he won't comply OT. I guess he's going to use a "civil disobedience" angle to make a point.

You're a real piece of work OT.

The supremacy clause, therefore, is a bal-
ance-of-power provision in the Constitution, not a provi-
sion that makes the federal government supreme or
sovereign. The supremacy clause must be read in light of
other provisions of the Constitution, especially the repub-
lican guarantee clause and the Tenth Amendment. The
former clause provides that: “The United States shall
guarantee to every State in this Union a republican form
of government.” The Tenth Amendment reiterates that
the powers not delegated to the U.S. government “by the
Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are re-
served to the States respectively, or to the people.” In-
deed, one of the reasonsfor adding the Tenth Amendment
to the Constitution was to drive home the point that the
federal government is not supreme, pure and simple, and
that it cannot swallow up the states.
The supremacy clause is
a grant of limited supremacy bounded by the delegations of
power made by the people of the states through the U.S.
Constitution.

the feds must go through the sheriff in a county. even when the all powerful Secret Service came for a visit, the MUST be accompanied by a sheriff or his deputy...they have no jurisdiction out here. a county sheriff must ASK for help, or the feds must make aware, their intentions before making an arrest in a county.....

Jigs- would you show me any SCOTUS or Federal Court cases that back that....

That is what is put out by many rightwing groups- and we went thru the whole thing here in MT 25 years ago when the Legislature wanted pass a law saying that--BUT every Judge, Attorney, Constitutional Scholar said you might as well piss into the wind- because you are doing as much good....

Because of good law enforcement procedure most of the federal agencies work pretty well with the local- but there is no law saying they have to do anything the state or local authorities tell them- or ask permission before they make a move....

Maybe you just didn't have the NUTS to tell the feds who was in charge in your county O.T. ?

I looked into every way you could back it if they refused to leave- and you can't..
Or do you have a way?

Federal agencies and officers can be great sources of investigative tools, info, and logistics ... I had very few problems working with them...

when the men in black came a calling, they had to go to the local sheriff to have them accompany the agents to my home. I believe they already knew everything about me, and had been through my computer ( gosh Kola, I hope they did not see those pics you sent me) they knew me inside out, and asked all the questions to see if I answered the way my info was on my hard drive.... I have nothing to hide. the sheriff later told me that they must go through him to visit anyone in the county. it is the way the system is set up....perhaps my sheriff has testicles, something the resident boozer who thinks he is the Webster reference guide to law and order seems to be lacking.
