Kerry...........a true ZERO

Kerry was talking to a group of college students in Pasadena, California on Monday when he said "You know, education--if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

I am curious why our liberal friends have forgotten to mention this. This just goes to show how he views the military. Mr. Kerry please do us a favor and just fade away.

Seems when the facts are out, in 2004 82.7% of recruits were high school graduates while another 7.03% had their GEDs. The national high school graduation rate that year was 79.8%. In 2006, the high school graduation rate for recruits is still higher than the high school graduation rate for the civilian population. Seems that the military was unjustly accused AGAIN. You will find that "the Department of Defense reported that the mean reading level of 2004 recruits is a full grade level higher than that of the comparable youth population."

Watch for the excuses to come rolling in from the ketchup guru.

Ok...I'm back @ the ' puter and CAN'T ignore this one so I'll give it a quick once over, then I gotta go do errands.

First off....you KNOW for a fact that no one would insult the troops and that he did not direct it that way. He was aiming that @ Bush but boy howdy did it come out back asserd's!!!! And he did not, nor does anyone else here want the terrorist to win. ( I've had to wear a galabyia & head coverings in Egypt..they're HOT!!!!!) Now that IS a great propaganda statement and it rouses the team.

2nd. YES it was a BIG blunder. I mean it was truly an OPEN MOUTH AND INSERT FOOT moment in history. I know when I heard it I just froze and thought "IDIOT"!!!

3rd. I think he ( Kerry) should apologize for the way it sounded/came out as that did enough damage all by itself without all the media hub-bub that has taken place.

4th ....If he had ANY aspirations for President...I'd say he might as well pack up his ball and go home and forget it. This was the clincher for him

5th....He ( Kerry) is right on one fact. That no one leading this war, no one that comes instantly to mind, in the admin. has served in the armed forces/battlefield....and that is a wrong move.

Ok....gotta run errands and catch up.....but I know all you lovely people will have something for me when I ck back in a few hours.

XOXOXOX's till then!

No it is NOT a fact, because it is a FACT he attacked the military before,it is a pattern for him.

He was aiming that @ Bush
No where does his quote say anything about bush........nice dodge but it ain't gonna work.

Kerry sure put his foot in his mouth on this one and it does make a good soundbite.

After seeing the quote and Kerry explaining it, I would have to agree this was a blunder of words, not meaning.

Meaning is much more important and Bush depends on it for his many errors of speech.

In order to see that you have to go in with the presumption the same as Kerry's............nothing more nothing less. There is nothing in the quote to indicate anything about the administration.......to try and imply now is nothing more than a cop out.

If put into context with his previous statements about the military...........you have to come to the conclusion...........HE MEANT WHAT HE SAID.

Here is an article by the Heritage (republican) Foundation on military recruiting. Perhaps Kol or others can bring up the democratic view that Kerry was expressing in his comment.

http://www.heritage.org/Research/NationalSecurity/cda05-08.cfm

This article does not seem to support Kerry's argument but the data could have been manipulated as to time period to get the results wanted. That is why I wanted a response from the democratic side, if there is one.

Now PT...I admitted that Kerry was in Idiot and you NEVER acknowleged that....you're slippin' my friend.

So, does the same rule apply to bush....he meant EVERY verbal blunder he's ever made?

I'm NOT defending Kerry...just asking a logical question.

Kola you are right, I should have acknowledged your condemnation of Kerry's statement. I am sorry and also I am proud of you for your work for the military. You do not know how much your efforts mean to me. Thanks.

Next statement................this has no mention of Bush, so bringing in him to this discussion is only to divert attention from Kerry's remark.

yes you are defending JOHN"the traitor" KERRY, go read my post in the other thread, your attack on bush is in defense of KERRY within itself!
kola i admire your service to my fellow soldiers but to stand behind a man of his low integritry is disgracefulll to those who SERVE!!!!! and thos who have SERVED!!!!!!
you condem him in one breath and then try to defend him by pulling a true liberal tactic of attacking someone else!!!
SHAME ON YOU

Dont' go wasting time shaming me or braggin' on what I do. I do what I do because I want to and I feel I need to...for no other reason. I don't mention here anymore ( nor do I want it mentioned) cause too many people like to get snappy and snipe about it.

Seems no one wants to apply the same rules to the Rep's as you apply to the Dem's...be it Kerry or whomever.

Such a sad set of rules.

MM& P I don't see how in the world you translated my quote you pasted into your statement along beside it.

Ya'll are getting so weirded out that you can't see that I'm not defending Kerry. I said he should pack it up and go home, he's OVER!!!

One thing for sure, he can't and won't apologize.
Given the fact that anyone can 'open mouth, insert foot'...
he could at least feel bad enough to say he's sorry.

Obviously not.

The man is an arrogant jerk.

I shall translate.

Since you will not or are afraid to tell me ( and others on the forum) if the rules apply equally to Rep's and Dem's on this thread you may send me a Private Message and answer the question that I posed to you earlier.
