Kerry's Comments

Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry defiantly and in no uncertain terms declared Tuesday that he would "apologize to no one" for statements made a day earlier, in which he told a gathering of California college students that if you don't do well in school, you will "get stuck in Iraq."

"I apologize to no one for my criticism of the president and his broken policy," Kerry told reporters in a press conference in Seattle. "My statement yesterday, and the White House knows this full-well, was a botched joke about the president and the president's people and not about the troops."

Kerry has put himself in a lose/lose situation. He has perturbed the entire military vote in the U.S. and abroad. Problem is......most of the military votes overseas have already been sent in. Wonder how many would like to take their vote back?

How could he be so stupid?

Good news is that if Kerry keeps putting his foot in his mouth, we won't ever have to worry about him running again...I heard on the news this morning that the Dems are pulling Kerry off the campaign speakers trail and hiding him until election time...

Now to get Hillary to make a few similar statements and put her in perpetual hiding

That would be relief, OT.

Kerry must have a deep hatered for the military..... Apparently he must be so greedy and fame hungry, he has sold out his soul.. How in the world does he expect to make it, when the worst thing you can do is be antimilitary..... That is totally aginst everything the U.S. is all about.....
What would of happened if he was the President?.........

I don't think he was being anti military. He was just saying that you better get your degree and have other options than to not get your degree and have the military be your best option.

The Heritage paper I posted on the other topic seems to disagree when it comes to actual numbers in the military according to education/income.

The last thing we want is another vietnam where many thought it was better to go to Canada than serve your country.

Seems to me that each side takes turns messing up.....First it was some gay man sending emails, last week it was the "stay the course" to the "cut and run" fiasco, this weeks its picking on the troops....Just not sure what these cry babies will fight about next....why not try working somewhat together for the good of the country......neither side seems to represent what america is all about.... Just my opinion...

But if you repub's are looking for a liberal to agree that what kerry said was wrong?.I will agree his statement was wrong......

I think with the scrutiny that either the rep or dem bias reporter's employ these days on political figures(right or wrong is not for me to say)......It may become almost impossible to find a leader who puts their country first, has an honest heart, while sporting an unselfish attitude, and who's closet is clear of skeletons.....It is just really a no win job now...even the respect for the position of President Of the United states is at an all time low...That you cannot blame solely on GW.Bush, many before him had their hands in it to.....Again my opinion..

AMEN- NN-- I have to agree with you on that... Both Parties are so busy trying to stab the other in the back that nothing is being/has been accomplished...Seems like none of them want to bend from Party Goosestepping and work for the peoples interests anymore...Spend more time trying to make the other Party look bad...

And again I think its tied back to the money-- the party in charge, or with the most pull gets the most lobbying money and "gratuities"... Need to change the whole contribution system and put them all back on a level field- where they vote by what they feel is best for the country and not for who they can get the most money out of.....

if you give it a half second of thought you will know that kerry's intended target would be bush and not the soldiers in iraq. nobody in their right mind is going to criticize the military. obviously kerry wanted to take a shot at bush's intellectual capacity in a very dramatic way. for bush to right away haul out the same old strategy of hiding behind the guys in the line of fire says so much about his character. the repubs can spin it any way they want and i just watched tony snow trying to pin this one down and failing so i guess not everybody will respect bush's chicken crap strategy.

PT!!! Hey...you hound me to answer YOUR questions...and I do, you may not like the response but I DO answer.

Must be that you DON'T want the same rules that you apply/hold Kerry to apply to the sainted Bush.

This is all I can surmise by you running from me and my question. :? :? :?

The only political joke in that speech was Kerry.Bush is an idiot sometimes to but not that bad, whether or not it was to put down Bush, why would the soldiers and their education even be brought up.He does need to apologize to the armed forces(not to Bush).Whether it was a screw up or not.
