Seems as though I remember Fatsquatch's comments on kids in his area needing health care but couldn't afford it and that ObamaCare would be a fix.

just another unintended consequences of liberal policy..

Karri Kinder, a mother of two in Alabama, also made public her failed attempts to attain coverage for her 7 year-old son with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. While her story leaves out details about her former insurance plan, the bottom line is disturbing – Kinder must now choose between paying double the price for a similar plan through her insurance company, or she will have to accept a plan through the exchange that will cover herself, her husband, and her 3 year-old for a reasonable price, leaving her 7 year-old son without coverage at all.

If, however, the allegations against healthcare.gov are true, then the government is responsible and must take immediate action. The goal of the Affordable Care Act is to provide more coverage for those who were previously without it, not to take away coverage from those who had it.

The new law requires all health insurance companies in the individual and small group markets to use a consistent rating method called "member level rating." For the individual market, this means each person on an insurance policy will now be rated based on age, whether he or she uses tobacco, and the county in which the policy holder lives.

In the past Blue Cross was able to offer one family premium, no matter the size. For family plans, most family members will now be rated individually. Once each person has been rated, the amounts are added together to get a family's premium cost. For children age 20 and younger, the oldest three children will be individually rated and included in the family premium amount. As a result, larger families may experience higher premiums.
