Hillary, Bill Clinton Linked to Elder Scam - How Much Were They Paid?
Dick Morris & Eileen McGann
Tuesday, May 29, 2007

Since he left office in 2001, former president Bill Clinton has been paid $3.3 million by InfoUSA, an Omaha, Nebraska company that has been identified as a key provider of specially designed databases that have been sold to criminals who use the detailed information to defraud the unsuspecting elderly.

The consulting fees to the former president were only part of the largess InfoUSA showered on the former president.

Vinod Gupta, the CEO of InfoUSA, lent the Clintons the company's jet which took them to places like Switzerland, Hawaii, Jamaica and Mexico.

The jet service was worth a staggering $900,000.

And Gupta gave the Clinton library a six-figure gift as well. Indeed, just months after he left the presidency, Bill Clinton was paid $200,000 for a speech given to InfoUSA in Omaha.

InfoUSA is not the kind of company with which a former president and the husband of a presidential candidate should associate.

According to the The New York Times, InfoUSA compiled and sold lists that disclosed the names of elderly men and women who would be likely to respond to unscrupulous scams.

The lists left no doubt about the vulnerability of the elderly targets.

The Times reported, for example, that InfoUSA advertised lists of "Elderly Opportunity Seekers," 3.3 million older people "looking for ways to make money," and "Suffering Seniors," 4.7 million people with cancer or Alzheimer's disease. "Oldies but Goodies" contained 500,000 gamblers over 55 years old, for 8.5 cents apiece. One list said: "These people are gullible. They want to believe that their luck can change."

InfoUSA sold lists to companies that were under investigation or closed down by courts because of their criminal activity. The company's internal emails show that employees were aware that the investigation for elderly fraud involved their customers, but sold the lists anyway.

The Times profiled one unfortunate 92-year-old man who entered a sweepstakes sponsored by InfoUSA. The information that he innocently provided was then sold to the predator marketers. After responding to their telemarketing calls seeking financial information, his entire life savings was stolen from his bank account at Wachovia Bank. These practices, using lists supplied by InfoUSA, were repeated all over the country.

Last week, Hillary Clinton sought and obtained an extension of time to file her presidential candidate financial disclosure statement.

This connection between the Clintons and InfoUSA only underscores the necessity of full disclosure of income sources and amounts by all the presidential candidates and the release of their income tax returns, a step Mrs. Clinton has, thus far, refused to take.

A few more revelations of Bills and Hills love of a shady dollar like this, is what I hope keeps her from becoming the Democrat nominee--because everyday it looks like whoever is chosen by the Democrats will have a walk-in to the White House....

But I would never count ol Hillary out- knowing her past history, the competition could all mysteriously develop fatal illness's or become suicidal...

Your continuous proclamation of a Dem having a cake walk into the white house is starting to give me nightmares at night. :(

I can not imagine, Obama, Hillary, Richardson or Gore. Is there anyone else that might come up and beat these guys for the Dem nomination?

If I had to I would want to see Richardson out of that short list. But even not liking McCain or Giuliani very much I would rather see either of them two than the Dem's short list win.

Nope- Edwards don't stand a chance...Right now with George Soros money and the rich liberals supporting him I think Obama stands the best chance...
And every day- every announcement GW or the Administration makes loses the Republican Party backers...Even Newt or Fred Thomas is going to have an uphill battle convincing folks that they will take the Republican Party in a differing direction from the last 7 years....

My guess right now is that it will be a Obama/Richardson Dem ticket- which will draw them a large black and latino vote- and unless they make a huge foulup- we will be saying President Obama...(And if Kennedy gets his way and gets the Bush/Kennedy bill thru the way he wants it, there will be up to 40 million new "mostly Democrat" voters in the country in the next few years- to completely do under the Republican Party...)

But like I said in my other disclaimer- You can never count Hillary out- she will stop at nothing short of murder to get what she wants- and she wants to be President...

I would be more scared of Hillary winning than Obama. I truly do not think a Black man with a Mexican (1/2) VP can win the Presidency. I think their is enough closet racism that when the curtain closes they will not vote in a Black President.

I think a woman would have a hard time also, but not as much as a black candidate would.

I hope that at least Giuliani can beat them, that is who I think will be the next president personally.

It would almost be funny (or sad) if Obama and Richardson were elected. The two biggest problems facing America at the moment is Radical Muslims and Immigration from Mexico. To elect a Muslim named President with a Vice President that was raised in Mexico City would be pretty Ironic.

That might be the best move we could make at this point in time. NO ONE has the experience of Richardson, love him or hate him, he's got the background in foreign relations! Obama, fresh face and a face that is more representative of the homogeneous mix of the world at present

I have a hard time believing that someone named Barack Hussein Obama could be elected President in a post 9/11 world. A black man, yes, but not the aforementioned one.

The biggest thing that scares me is that I believe the Dems could easily end up controlling all 3 segments of legislation/administration (President, Senate, House)-- and I don't like that - with either party...I think a 2 and 1 split keeps them a little more on level key and honest ( :???: )....Not only puts more controls on making new law/policy- but puts some oversight on the Admistration to actively enforce the old ones and enforce/follow them correctly- something we didn't have for 6 years, which I think put us in some of the mess we're in now...

I think when things get nasty Hillary will eat him up and spit him out. She will find all dirt there is about him and bring it. I think his Muslim connection when he was a kid will be used, his past drug problems, some financial dealings. The Media might not push it but Hillary will. Obama better have a very clean past with no blemishes and I suspect he doesn't.

Witch(pun) could work in our favor...... Hillery is unelectable..... Just way to much baggage.. Rudie may very well be our next president.... But not with my vote.......

To me Rudi is just a Democrat in Repubs clothing....If it come down to it I'd rather have Richardson....

I agree OT...... But I just don't think anyone else is strong enough to beat him.... Only thing is that he will have some strings to the republican party that he has to fulfill..... Like having your foot in the door....... :D

You could be right...If Rudi gets the nomination, I'm not sure he can get enough of the conservative/Libertarian side of the party to support him to win- especially in the south and the west--- against what so far is still a pretty united Democrat party...
Around here you can't even get a good argument out of some of the old Repubs anymore- they just shake their head or roll their eyes at the latest antics, and many don't even like to admit they're Republican...Repubs in the Montana legislature were a sham- that split the party right down the middle...

Ain't even fun trying to stir up an argument at the waterhole anymore

I have it from a very reliable source that Newt will throw his hat in the ring shortly- and I think Fred Thomas will too- which will pull all the conservative Repubs their way....But not sure they can pull the Party back together again in time for the election- especially with GW's admin tearing it apart more daily.....

Thomas- Thompson whatever- yep the Repubs supposed White Knight...I'd never heard of the fellow (except for him being a replacement talking head for Paul Harvey) until just recently...I heard somewhere today that he is going to announce on the 4th of July...

Just not sure if he has enough to repair an imploded party- and get enough support to then go on and win....

He plays the DA on Law and Order, was an Admiral in Hunt for Red October and I think he was a Senator from Tennessee.. I like him for the most part on personality but I just don't know enough about him on other things.. The one thing he has going for him is he is an articulate speaker, especially compared to the Bushes.. I don't know if he has the patience for politics, think that is why he left office to begin with..
