Last two days we've had this Kooky Woodpecker banging away at our empty fuel tank.It just booms and is driving us crazy.I've tried to take a pic of him but he flies away only to return after I leave.Theres no Mountain Ash trees in our yard so I'm assuming hes sober...lol Any ideas what hes doing :???:

No, I think it's the one that lasts the longest. :)

Them woodpeckers are the darnedest things. I can't figure out why they would peck on something that just isn't going to get a hole in it. We have an old tractor in the yard with a metal seat, and that's where they like to peck. Go figure!

We had a downy woodpecker attacking our house wood siding- of course high in the peak of the roof. Mr nr filled the holes and we cut some disposable pie tins into long spirals and hung them up which seems to have frightened them away.

I've read of folks hanging used CDs up- the spinning reflection seems to deter birds also. I'm going to try that in the veg garden.
