I applaud Barry for getting it right this time!

Attorney General Eric Holder today will announce that self-proclaimed Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammad will be tried in a military commission, the CBS News Investigative Unit has learned. A source says the commission will be held at the Guantanamo Bay prison.

Holder is expected to announce the decision in a news conference today at 2 p.m.

Trying Mohammed in a civilian court and closing the Guantanamo prison were once some of the Obama administration's top priorities, but political realities have hamstrung both goals.

================

No, not political realities.........just reality. Bush had this all figured out when he was prez but instead of trusting his judgment on the issue, Barry decided it was worth it for purely political reasons to claim that keeping Gitmo open only served to create more terrorists, they deserved the same rights as any American citizen, yada yada yada. Of course, our fellow libs fell in line with Barry.

Wonder if they'll be here now to denounce Barry?

Oh my, did you guys see that whine-fest put on by Holder? What a cry-baby and arrogant ass all rolled up into one. I wonder if he was as pissed when the donk-controlled congress threw every roadblock they could in Bush's way to stop military tribunals?

These guys would have been tried, and hopefully sent off to meet their 72 virgins, years ago if the Bush-proposed military tribunals had been allowed to move forward.

Yes I saw.

Did you listen to Todd Beamer's father on Fox News talking
about it? He made some excellent points.

The Dem stratagists are still trying to blame Bush...

"This president faces domestic challenges and the national security challenges, so he's got a big job," McCain said.

Obama got to work from day one by ordering a halt to prosecutions of Guantanamo Bay prisoners, followed by an order to close the detention facility within a year and ban torture. But McCain told King he thinks the new president may have been hasty in the decision and should have taken the time to consider everything associated with closing the camp before forcing himself into a timetable.

"I think that it's a wise move," McCain said about closing Guantanamo Bay. "But I also think that we should have addressed this whole issue completely, because it did not address the issue of those who we have in custody and can't -- and no country will take them back. We should have addressed the issue of those who we know would pose a threat to the United States, but we don't have sufficient evidence to move forward."

McCain said instead of closing Guantanamo Bay outright, he would have first continued the military commissions, which "after years of delay and obfuscation" were finally moving toward trials.

"So, the easy part, in all due respect, is to say we're going to close Guantanamo," McCain said. "Then I think I would have said where they were going to be taken. Because you're going to run into a NIMBY [not in my backyard] problem here in the United States of America."

This photo downloaded from the Arabic language Internet site www.muslm.net and purporting to show a man identified by the Internet site as Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the accused mastermind of the Sep. 11 attacks, is seen in detention at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The picture was allegedly taken in July 2009

Courtroom artist Janet Hamlin displays the illustration she redrew at the request of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, accused architect of the 9/11 attacks, facing capital charges at Guantanamo Bay.

heck they all look a bit the same with a gray straggly beard and a table cloth over their natty head..

Glad to hear your mom is better there, wingnut. Hey, I thought of you this morning.

George Staphlacaccus was interviewing Jessie Ventura this morning and he (Jessie) was talking about WTC7 falling at free-fall speed. "Even the NIST report said it fell at free-fall speed."

Yes, and according to OldWindBag, McCain was in favor of 100 years of war.

Can you please explain why a person (KSM) would CONFESS to a crime that according to you, his accuser (The US Government) carried out? Would it not further his hate filled agenda if he could prove the US government killed their own innocent people to frame the Muslim extremists of something that they didn't do? See this is why your conspiracies does not hold water, innocent people do not confess to crimes that will result in their own death to take blame off of their enemies. It makes no sense and after months you have not provided any evidence to change any one's mind.

BTW glad to hear your mother is feeling better.
