La Nina

I just heard on the radio this morning that the Weather Boys say from the changing Pacific Ocean temps that they think we are heading into a La Nina weather pattern in the next couple months-- which historically is good for this part of the country with the Pacific northwest usually much wetter- which spills over and makes a wetter upper plains...Rainier summer ( but snowier winter)...

It also historically makes our upper plains cooler in the summer (colder in winter)...

But it also leads to a dryer hotter weather pattern in much of the south - and to a greater number of and more severe hurricanes for the Atlantic and Gulf.....

Believe me....we're all wishing for a good hurricane about now!!

It's soooooo dry here and the smoke from all the fires in N Fla and S Ga have now blown well over 200+ miles North to me.

It's so smoky here you can hardly stand to go outside!

No snain or snow-- just a steady light rain all day long...Picked up another 1/2 inch of moisture, which is putting me over 2" this week....Still raining..

Water and mud everywhere :D

At the north place on the pasture, we've picked up over 6 inches now this month- when last year we only got 10 inches for the whole year.... :) :)

We didn't get much rain today. Just messed around mostly, but
I see on the tv in town that we are over 6 inches so far for MAY!!

The crested wheat is loving this kind of weather.

We can't get branded, but who cares? Calves are fat
and sassy. Might need to head and heel them when we
are able to brand them.

I'm not teasing, I'm serious.
Want to come help?

If they don't get branded this Friday, that is.
'Course you are welcome to come Friday too.
Mr. FH said that on Friday the horses might have to hold
the calves while someone sits on their head.

I think Soapweeds Branding Gizmo is the real deal
and we don't have one!!!

Not this Friday. Got a branding here. Where we head and heel them.

If fuel wasn't so high, I'd love to come. 'Course, it wouldn't be like that other brandin' I went to at your neighbors a few years back, would
it? :yeah: :x

Too many lazy beer drinking pups, to suit me. but then, I'm fussy.

Maybe if you gave Soap a call he'd deliver one?
