George Soros has rightfully built himself a reputation as a massive backer of Left wing political causes, donating hundreds of millions of his $25-plus billion (and growing) wealth to a portfolio of leftist think tanks, action groups, political action committees and candidates. Enjoying a position as the 19th richest man in America, the man seems hellbent on fighting the system of free enterprise that has allowed him to enjoy such success.

And while he’s often the go-to “boogeyman” for those in the Right when it comes to the influence of money in politics, he’s not the Left’s biggest spender as of late.

From Allen B. West

“Enter, Tom Steyer, another billionaire (net worth: $1.6 billion) owing his wealth to the hedge fund industry.

As for how he compares to Soros, Conservative Review has the stats.

The Washington Post reported Steyer spent $66.3 million helping Democrats in the 2016 cycle, and the Washington Times reports that the final spend was north of $87.6 million. That makes him the largest individual donor of the 2016 election cycle. He spent $75.4 million on federal races in 2014, a year he was also the top donor.

How much did legendary leftist George Soros spend in 2016? A meager $17.5 million.

So who is Tom Steyer?

Steyer is the founder of Farallon Capital, a hedge fund that Fortune reported in 2008 had $33 billion in assets. He has since left the daily management of Farallon to run a non-profit committed to saving the climate, called NextGen Climate. At first it is confusing that on the non-profit’s website it is noted that Steyer “founded a successful California business,” but it doesn’t state that business is Farallon.

I am sure he is happy to see Bannon getting sidelined.. the climate change folk will stop at nothing until we are in the dark as their mansions and runways glow with light.

then...
WASHINGTON — The White House is fiercely divided over President Trump’s campaign promise to “cancel” the Paris agreement, the 2015 accord that binds nearly every country to curb global warming, with more moderate voices maintaining that he should stick with the agreement despite his campaign pledge.

Stephen K. Bannon, Mr. Trump’s senior adviser, is pressing the president to officially pull the United States from the landmark accord, according to energy and government officials with knowledge of the debate. But, they say, he is clashing with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and the president’s daughter Ivanka Trump.

Ivanka Trump and her husband, White House senior adviser Jared Kushner, intervened to get a pending executive order stripped of language critical of an international climate agreement signed by President Barack Obama.

Kushner and Ivanka “intervened to strike language about the climate deal from an earlier draft of the executive order,” sources familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal.

Ivanka and her husband “have been considered a moderating influence on the White House’s position on climate change and environmental issues,” WSJ reports. Now, the executive order will have no mention of the so-called Paris agreement.

NOW
As President Donald Trump contemplates whether to make good on his campaign promise to yank the United States out of the Paris climate accord, an unlikely lobbying force is hoping to talk him out of it.

The industry campaign to stick with the Paris accord comes amid deep divisions in the Trump administration over the carbon-cutting agreement. Both the president’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, and her husband, Jared Kushner, a White House special adviser, have urged the president to stay in the deal, along with Tillerson. On the other side are senior adviser Stephen Bannon and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt, who on Friday said "we need to exit" the pact.

Trump is nearing a decision on whether he will fulfill repeated pledges to withdraw the U.S. from the carbon-cutting pact he previously derided as "bad for U.S. business." At the White House, senior administration officials, including Pruitt, Tillerson, Kushner and Bannon, are set to meet this week to go over the pros and cons of staying in Paris.

The Paris agreement itself is really an array of individual, country-specific pledges, such as the U.S. promise to cut greenhouse gas emissions at least 26 percent from 2005 levels by 2025.

BIG money in Climate change and corporations such as BP, Shell, and Exxon are sure to come out on top and in control,.. so billionaires may act like they are in it to do good, but they know where and how their pockets are lined.

Looks like Liberal Jared and Ivanka might be getting what they want but that is not what Trump ran on to get the Conservative vote.

Have to wonder just how much Ivanka's friendship with Chelsea Clinton weighed into Trump's reversal of going after Hillary while listening to his supporters chanting LOCK HER UP for months.

Has anyone heard of anything about the Inspector General investigation into Comey's handling of the Clinton Investigation or has that been dropped without anyone being held accountable too?

If Trump would focus on the economy, jobs, immigration, and ignore the rest he would still do fine.. but every-time he breaks another promise it not only makes many conservatives realize he is not conservative, but gives the liberals ammunition for beating him up at every turn.
