Last night on Hannity

I can't find a link yet, but last night on the Sean Hannity show their was a liberal women on talking about how the schools need to talk to our children about pornagraphy, oral sex, etc. and they shouldn't need parental permission. Then later they talked about the changing eviroments and the same lady spoke that the best thing to do would be to become a vegitarian or vegan and that would clean up the enviroment faster.

My question is how do people become so dumb?

Hannity nearly exploded on the children topic, and then he said he was going to go have a steak.

I don't understand the other side either. Some of the statements I hear people make are beyond comprehension.

They must form these opinions when they are young and unable to make proper decisions, then they grow older and are embarrassed to change their position is all I can think of.

Another example. I just watched a little of Fox News this AM, and the liberal, Colmes, just said that he thought is was a shame that Weiner is stepping down. He didn't think he did much wrong. WTF!!! If he had a job where he was actually hired, he would already be FIRED. These guys get dumber and dumber every day.

The woman was Caroline Heldman and she is a Occidental College Professor, as in where Obama supposedly attended, So you can bet any of her students are getting a first class education in being a left bias wingnut. She will defend any thing far left . :roll:

Then you have Colmes that admits he is even farther left than Obama and is upset because in his brain the government hasn't gone off the far left deep end fast enough to suit him. He doesn't seem to care whether the country goes bankrupt and his grandkids are in debt for the rest of their lives as long as the social welfare train keeps rolling at lightning speed. :x Besides that he doesn't seem to care that his party is going morally bankrupt either. You can bet if it were a Republican that was sexting a 17 year old and telling a porn star to lie about their communications Allen would see something wrong with the guy but as long as it is a far left wingnut that is willing to push the welfare train down the track Colmes will stand by him and support his preverted crap. :roll:

I can not believe that him and Monica Crowley are in laws. It must make for interesting Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. :wink:

There are no simple explanations for understanding how some of these folks reason. I think that perhaps for many, politics is their religion and you see the same themes running through their discourse on any number of subjects.

It'd be interesting to poll a bunch of vegans and see who they voted for in the last presidential election. I'd bet 90% plus pulled the lever for the Messiah....and the other 10% for some fringe loony. Yet they'll swear all day long their vegan lunacy is purely health and environmentally-related.

My stab at an explanation:

I think the one of the biggest reasons for the junk being spewed these days is actually due to the prideful nature of humans. Morals are at the core for any position or thought. Religious views are the cornerstone for Morals. It seems to me, the people in our older generations shared a lot more comonality with each other in their basic view of the universe. I'm pretty certain that I and the enlightened ones could not be further apart.

If I try hard to follow the thought process of most of the nuts these days, I can logically folllow some of these ideas back so far (if there truly was no God, then what does make man superior to any other life form?..), but this can only be followed so far and then the wheels completely fall off the wagon. If one is not superior to the other, then this view should be consistent through ideas of these weirdos.

If the basic premis that you hear touted is that people are mice, are ants, are trees, are _____ (fill in the blank). If a cat is a mouse, then shouldn't there be a whole bunch of cats on trial for murder? (In their logic, my dog can kill a cow to eat a nice steak but it is imoral for me- not consistent).

Then they say, that domesticating animals is cruel and they should be set free... if an animal has the "right" to free choice to direct their own existance whether for the better or worse of that individual animal or at the peril of another, how in the same breath can they say humans should not be granted the same basic "rights" (since they are equal).

If the goal is to actually reduce inhumane treatment, isn't being fed a regularly scheduled meal each day, receiving preventative care, and being housed away from preditors less inhumane than starving, dying of disease, or being attacked, mutilated or killed?

Expanding on this idea ... Isn't providing all members in heards access to "free health care", housing/protection, and an endless supply of food not socialism for animals? If socialism is so good for people, why is not acceptable for animals? After all, aren't they the same....


In contrary, if you are to believe that animals were created for the purpose of man's use, then it would make sense why man's dominion over animals is not a violation of natural law, but in harmony with it.

But, to believe in a "designed" universe, one would reason that man is not the ultimate authority. And this ladies and gentlemen is where many of the new agers have a problem, as they would have to HUMBLE themselves. I think this is the ultimate key to the mess- self pride.

And people eat this up. You can now believe anything you want to believe and it doesn't have to make logical sense because everything is relative (except if you don't agree with them, then you are a murderer)
