A honkin onion is a big as you can get. I like the really strong ones but some people like the wimpy varieties. I will never get people who dont like onions and garlic. I grew up in an onion , garlic, mushroom less home so let me tell ya I go bonkers now!

I'm telling you it is wonderful to toss something like that in the crock pot and come home to amazingness!!!! Takes about 5 minutes of prep and voila! I dont peel my taters either so the mashing and boiling is about 20 minutes. But peel the sweet taters....

If we areusing red taters we don't peal them, Yukons are good too put we pealed those s well as ose whites and russets.. Sweet taters are so darn easy to peel that we do it after cooking them usually. Just boil or microwave or bake the suckers and the skin comes right off as longa s you cool them a bit first..

I am not a huge crock pot person but there are some stews and soups that my wie hastad making that are great.. I love coming in after a long day outside in the winter to the smell of a nice beef dish cooked in a good redwine and bay or comming in when the onions and garlic and other aromatics are being sauted befoe putting them in the pot. Yes, we love cooking in this family.. And eating tooo.

Nope I did the taters on the stove, put the regular ones in with the sweet ones and boiled away. Makes a really neat color when you blend them together :)

IL do you make the Chorizo yourself or does your butcher?

Mr. Greg, I havent tried putting the garlic in the water but sounds like something to try

JB If ya dont do sweet taters leave them out :) Did you have a bad tater incident? My mom tried to kill me feeding me sugared yams with raisins. Icky... Anyone else notice that those little green raisins look like boogers

Mexican (Well spanish but the version we do is Mexican) spiced pork sausage.. Basically ground pork mixed with cayanee or soe other chili peper, garlic and vinigar and let it soak for 24 hours.. Depending on how you make it it will be smokey spicey (Chiplote) mild or so hot it will.. welll.. it gets darn hot... You can do eggs with it with some salsa or you can melt some montery jack cheese, poor it on a tortilla and mix in the chorizo for a burriot type meal.. Add some chimmichurra (Spiced parsley) and it is a great finger food.
